This software used to be paid for (not sure how much) but now its FREE. The software is used to enlarge photos without loosing quality.

Below is some info from their website

Reshade enhances and up-scales your images to ultra-high resolution.

The application relies on our state of the art single-image photo enlargement algorithms to produce crisp-clear resizes.

Resize images without the usual blur, jagged edges, loss of sharpness or detail. Create photo resizes at all zooms up to 2000%. Speed up your work with keyboard shortcuts, drag-and-drop, etc.

Quickly enhance and resize images for print, high-res publishing, web design, etc. Reshade supports popular file formats such as JPEG, TIFF, PNG and color modes such as RGB and CMYK.

While what this program claims to do is impossible......you cannot add data which is not there.....it is a simple interpolation program ......it does what many lower end camera do and with the processing power of most PC's should do it better !!

Certainly nothing worth paying for but as a freebie possibly worth a try

What does it claim to do that it doesn't do then? It states "Reshade enhances and up-scales your images to ultra-high resolution" and as such it does - no different than if you buy a 4k TV and it says watch HD upscaled to 4K... anything that is increasing the resolution is basically filling the resolution with extra pixels - so it is adding data to the image.. So with this image enlarger software the better the quality of the original smaller image the better the visual of the enlarged image. For free could well come in handy :)

I have to agree with the original comment.
Up-scaling does add data, as stated, BUT it is data that was not in the original frame.
You can take advantage of perceptual tricks to make the up-scaling look 'better' but it cannot put detail in the image that was not there to start with.
This is not opinion but Facts, if you examine the actual processes available to up-scale any images, they all are limited by the same issue of not being able to add 'real' detail to an image. All upscaling uses extrapolation with various psychovisual changes to make the 'false data' look better.

Just tried using the software to enlarge an image 10x.......not the 20x claimed by the software

While you could still tell it was the same image much of the fine detail had gone.....in order to remove artefacts & noise the final image ended up looking more like a painting than a photograph

This statement is certainly inaccurate "Resize images without the usual blur, jagged edges, loss of sharpness or detail.".........you certainly lose sharpness & detail
