0% credit card for 12 months with a cracking 0% balance transfer deal (normally about 3% to transfer!) for those with an existing Santander Group current account or mortgage. You can't transfer Santander Group credit cards but you can with any other & save a fortune in interest & balance transfer fees!

bit more info
- 0% foreign exchange fee
- 0% for 12 months on balance transfers from date of account opening. 3% fee applies (minimum £5)2
.........

so the deal is wrong as clearly states 0% transfer fee?
#3
balance transfer fee does not apply if you have a current account with them

If you have an account with them, and unfortunately I do not, then 0% balance transfer fee and 0% interest for 12 months is a free loan, so can be considere a freebie.

Whatever it is classed as, I would have liked to see this IF I had the "HOT" filter on, so by voting cold, even though most of you do not want or need this, you are potentially depriving other members of the chance to see this and investigate this further.

It might be worth opening an account with them, just to qualify for this card, especially if opening an account with Santander has some cashback as well!.

Most credit cards say thay if you default on the agreement by paying late or not at all, the cards reverts to somewhere around the 16% to 18% default. Virgin for one. Just set up a direct debit for minimum payment, like Martin Lewis keeps on telling us to do!

I am off to investigate further.

Her I am, back again.

Info of use taken from their website:
On 11 January 2010 Abbey and the Bradford & Bingley savings business became known as Santander. Alliance & Leicester will change its name later in 2010.Together we are part of the Santander Group. In the UK, we have over 24 million customers, 1.8 million shareholders, more than 1,300 branches and 4,500 cash machines and we are committed to providing excellent service.

So in principle 24/68 million is roughly 1 in 3 chance that someone might be able to use this deal to its full advantage.

Why on earth is this cold?

I have a santander current account and have applied for this card twice on line and both times my application has not registered. Great deal if you can get online the application process to work.
#9
not a freebie though is it

Voted Cold - Poor Post....

Some people should be banned from voting cold as they have absolutely no sense or intelligence what-so-ever.

This is a fantastic credit card, even for people without a Santander account that have to pay the NORMAL 3% transfer fee on the balance transfer before receiving the 0% interest for 12 months.

I've voted hot. Fantastic card deal.

I can't believe the negativity on this. A hell of a lot of people move there credit cards about, so to move to a 12 month 0% deal with NO TRANSFER FEE for Santander account holders just HAS to be a great deal. Some people need to read the full facts before making stupid comments.....

nope - just credit in savings

only a fool runs up debt they cant afford!
#19
Can't afford? Who said I can't afford? 95% of the population have credit in one form or another. 95% of the population are fools? Really good to have savings with the really great interest rates....to55er

Just so we are clear on this one. 0% on new purchases for three months is a great way of spreading the cost whilst benefiting from enhanced credit protection.

Credit is not a bad thing if managed in a constructive and grown up way. Surely the point is, if you are able to benefit from 12 month 0% then you should be more likely to reduce your debt.:whistling:

Well said! I normally clear each month anyway (except this month as I booked a holiday on it to have the credit card cover in case the holiday company goes bust!), but those with a Santander account can save on 0% transfer fee instead of the normal 3%. I was just making people aware of it but there is always one that tries to put you down! Makes me laugh they say they have loads of savings & don't use credit cards yet they are on this site looking at credit cards??? Says it all really...
