#2
Yea, I noticed this last week - probably 'cos everyone was using Facebook or something else instead...

Good post, teamrocket!
#3
Something they should have done years ago. A complete dead duck now.
#4
Can you sent abroad? thanks
#5
nice1 im going to join
#6
as hodsey77 pointed out it's more than likely they have been forced to due to facebook etc
#7
Redundant site thanks to Facebook! Too late now friendsreunited..shouldn't have been so greedy.
#8

Totally agree.. Maybe they shouldnt have been so greedy in the first place and they would have maybe have ended up like facebook for the UK.

idiots

Greedy ITV to blame, lets hope they get forced to do this with Genes Reunited messaging too. :x
If you try to contact someone it asks you for your credit card details immediately.

I signed up a couple of years ago and was shocked that they wanted payment, their software blocks people adding their own emails as well, I wouldn't use them now.

this site became popular a while back but then free websites like hi5, bebo, mayspace, facebook all came in and they were free. iv found more freinds on facebook then freindreunited.

typical example of a business who was too slow to keep up with the market trends, wouldnt care for em less

but thanks for post anyway, im sure itl help a few. heat added

Already posted several days ago:

Site is dead in the water anyway. Hardly anybody uses it anymore, and haven't done for years.

Yeah, this is only useful to send messages to tell old friends to join Facebook!

Stupid FR didn't notice that internet revenues lay in advertising, not in direct charging. You'd think business model of Google etc. would've given them a clue.
#16
its not really ITV to blame for asking to pay. FriendsReunited always did this long before ITV got involved.

Thats true, however:

When FR started they had no competition, and so could charge £7 (?) a year for the upgraded service.
ITV bought FR at about the same time as MySpaz, Bebo and Facebook were kicking off ... they (ITV) should have ditched the charge at that time.

god what a really **** website. i signed up again cos i think i've been deleted but it keeps coming up as 404 errors and saying cookie errors, lame. if it starts working im gonna delete again, it might be free but its defo ****

And a large number of people (including the wife and me) have removed all the information that we used to have on there for security reasons.

The site was a total waste of money for ITV - the sellers must have laughed their socks off!

Waste of space now.

If I wanted to stay in touch with the jerks I knew at school, I would have done. I dont need a website telling me how well they are doing :p

i traced/contacted my real mum through friendsreunited so will always have a soft spot for it, but they got incredibly greedy. It was popular about 8 years ago now and just sat on its laurels!

too little too late! but hot deal nonetheless
