Starting this weekend, collect seven classic comics over seven days in the Guardian and the Observer. Reignite childhood passions from a time of slushy pop and schoolboy mischief.

Girls: this Saturday pick up the 1975 Valentine's Day special of Jackie in the Guardian. You'll be able to discover how romantic you are through a fun quiz and swoon over a pull-out poster of the oh-so dreamy David Essex. Then look out for Bunty and Tammy later in the week for horse riding capers, cut-out wardrobes and the adventures of The Four Marys.

Boys: pick up the Observer on Sunday for a large dollop of gnashing, menacing and slipper dodging in the 2000th issue of The Beano from 1980. The thrills and spills continue in the week with Roy of the Rovers, The Dandy and Whizzer & Chips. That should be enough cow pie, football heroics and 'knobbly kneed' school kids to satisfy anyone (eh, readers?).

love Beano and Dandy! Thanks Holly for posting this :)
awesome! I had that issue of the Beano way back when :D
Can you imagine kids today relating to Roy Of The Rovers..??

"Melchester have been relegated... why didn't Roy just get his agent to get him a move to a premier league club?"
