Does maya have a watermark or anything? Or is it just a proffesional use agreement? Does the licence run out?

This is very sensible of them... enabling students to use the software in their own time and become expert at it will strengthen their place in the market once the students graduate.
Most people seemed to have dodgey copies when I was at uni.

And almost everybody still does. They make the software deliberately easy to crack as they want you to learn their software rather than a competitor. They know in the work place you will have to pay extortionate rates for official licences.

The CAD watermark when printing makes it prohibitive even though there is a relatively easy work around. Much better to have a full Architectural Desktop than a part watermarked CAD. Id imagine most students who have a need for this would be aware of this offer already.

just my perspective as an architecture student.

CS3 Adobe and 2009 Autodesk fanboy. Cant get to grips with 2011. And the code doesnt work says I am still on a trial...
#16
Aside from the 13 month trial period, can anyone please confirm if there are any other limitations? Specifically with AutoCAD, 3DSMax and Maya - I'm thinking watermarks over output, or you can't import models into After Effects, or that sort of thing.

Turns out they also have a program for people who have recently been made redundant too which I've never seen anyone do before.

Cheers

Could someone confirm that 3DStudio Max & Maya are indeed 13 month licences please?

I told my 16YO son about this, he registered with his school email and downloaded 3DS Max which he seems to think only have a 30 day trial period.

[EDIT] He hadn't spotted the serial number he's been sent. All registered correctly now :)

So is it a 13-month licence for all of the software or does it just apply to Maya?
#19
Excellent, thanks.
#20
Sweet - Does this have the same features as normal AutoCad? Just with it saying student it makes me wonder whether its the lite.

Thanks
