Discovered this last night on the App Store, and tested it on my Mac. Works brilliantly.
Download the Teamviewer App on your iPhone, and the corrosponding software on your PC or Mac.
Configure the Teamviewer program and match the settings on the Teamviewer App. As long as the App is connected by wi-fi or 3G, you can remote access your PC or Mac!
If you combine it with Dropbox, you can get docs from your machine directly to your iPhone with the Dropbox app!

does the mac have to be turned on?

Stupid question i know....
#2
You can set it up so you are able to access from the login page but obviously it must be connected to the Internet which us a bummer for me as mine is always set to hibernate
#3
been using this for a while and is a great piece of software, easy to set up and use
#4
Not Available In Uk Itunes Stores!!!!:?
#5
It is, i just downloaded / installed it? :L
#6
Works brilliant.. Heat + rep.

Is this the free version? I have the paid for version courtesy of Installous. And as long as they have no major differences I can whole heartedly reccomend this app. It's easily the best remote control app I've tried from the iTunes app store. 5 *'s.

PLEASE, tell me why this is a "deal" when its free to obtain and possibly been out for ages (or day one) anyway?? Unless its new app concept which never been seen etc etc, fair enough, but I highly doubt that.

To me it looks like an advert for them to get more d/l rates.
It wouldnt be nice if I started finding every app thats useful on android and post it up here??! (because I can quite easily name 50 'useful' apps).

Sorry OP not trying to deter you from posting, I really just dont see why it is here, one can find these apps on google etc. if one searches "remote access Iphone app"

Personally I use Logmein. Works great on my PocketPC and from the other PCs I use around the world. Easy to use & firewall friendly.
Dunno about Macs . . .

I've tried this for Windows and it is very easy to use and works really well for remote support and access.
I found it to be easier to use than Logmein.

I'm getting a 'The item you have requested is not currently available in the UK store' message when I click go to deal. :(

This works for me though: http://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/teamviewer/id357069581?mt=8

Logmein works great on macs too. Although if your only requirement is to securely access docs on your mac from your iphone, I’d recommend here file file ( http://herefilefile.com ) but sadly its not free :(

Because he's pointing out a free useful app, which goes in the free section.. You do that with your android apps, some people may like it - If it's free, it goes in the free section right? Hmm..

Thought the very same thing, free is free, like it or not, why do people bother to post rubbish, if you don't like it/want it then don't read the thread

I've been using TeamViewer for several weeks now since it first came to the appstore a few weeks ago and I got wind of it on my news feeds. I was actually meant to post it on here but I never got round to it!

I've used several apps to do the same such as VNC or Jaadu, NTRConnect. Whilst Jaadu has the biggest feature set, TeamViewer is so much simpler to set up and to get working away from your WiFi network, no messing with firewalls or tweaking router port forwarding etc.

Also it is in my opinion the quickest and most useable. Some apps using different protocols (i.e. VNC) can means it’s really sluggish to operate your PC from away from home.

They also have a portable version of their client which needs to be running to connect to the PC i.e. it can be installed on a USB stick and used free of charge. This is great for me in work where I am not allowed to install things to the computers drives but I can run what’s installed on a USB stick.

The only negative I can find is TeamViewers business is built about offering their software to IT support clients etc, so whilst you are connected a little box appears in the bottom right of the screen. This can not be suppressed. Also when you are using the free version a pop up message appears when you disconnect. Whilst both of these aren’t really a problem, it does not allow you to stealth 'view only' access another PC i.e. a son or daughter to check they are safe on the net and are not looking at things they shouldn’t be.

Hot for me as was of the best free apps when you consider the others that are free are either crap or feature limited, and the closes rival 'Jaadu' is £14.99 last time I looked.

I posted it because (a) I found it a very cool and useful app and (b) it's completely free. Which is why most people post on here :-) I have to agree with the other poster, if you're not interested in it, don't read the post! Thanks to everyone else who do like it and voted or posted :)

Simply proving the point, why is it ok for some apps to be permitted and some not.

For the record, my point here is that it gets stupid and annoying (and others agree) the website gets spammed with these "free" apps.

Are you always so cheerful?

I didn't know anything about this. It is free and very useful and you can tell by the heat given that many people appreciate it. I bet you're a joy to live with! And if you know of 50 'useful' free apps, post them & see if others agree.

Thanks OP!

So your point is people shouldn't post free apps they think others will appreciate in case they get voted cold?

Pathetic, they posted this in the freebies section of the site because it is an area where people post things that are available for free. This post has made many aware that this app exsists and many appreciate it, whats your argument you don't like things that are free?:? well why don't you just stay off the freebies section in future as it is likely to get you "annoyed" as you believe things that are free are "stupid" lol
