Regent Street is delighted to present the ‘Spirit of Christmas’ on Thursday 17th November. Switching on this year’s brand new Christmas lights scheme, TV Presenter Holly Willoughby will light up Regent Street with a display which is inspired by the very first Central London lights scheme in 1954.
The popular event will see appearances from Heart Breakfast presenters Jamie Theakston and Emma Bunton, who will lead the star-studded show from 6pm, which includes live performances by music stars Tom Odell and Rebecca Ferguson.

Beginning an evening of seasonal festivity, Rebecca Ferguson will open the show with her classic performance style, before Tom Odell takes to the stage to perform a selection of his hits.

Holly Willoughby will then take to the stage to push the switch at 6.50pm, officially marking the beginning of the festive season and welcoming the ‘Spirit of Christmas’ to Regent Street.

The ‘Spirit of Christmas’ scheme is a sculptural masterpiece, a dramatic and modern reimagining of the first Christmas lights on Regent Street, featuring a fleet of impressively large-scale Spirits that soar along the length of the street and reference contemporary art, culture and British design.

Regent Street will be pedestrianised from Piccadilly Circus to Beak Street from 4pm on Thursday 17th November. We look forward to welcoming you to celebrate the ‘Spirit of Christmas’ on Regent Street.

AVOID AT ALL COST. went last year. and it was terrible certainly not recommended to anyone all about to families. you count get near the stage so people had to watch it on big screens. then you have to stand for at least a couple of hours just to get a good place near the screen, it was very crowded and dangerous .
