TOILET CISTERN WATER SAVING DEVICES
Approximately 30% of the water used in the household is flushed down the toilet. By fitting a water saving device in the cistern the equivalent of 30 litres per day or enough water for a five-minute shower is saved.
A Hippo is a small plastic bag, which is fitted into your toilet cistern. Installation is easy and only takes a few minutes. Just follow the simple steps described below. Water is retained in the bag saving up to 3 litres of water each time you flush when fitted in an average cistern of 9 litres. You can save water with very little effort.
Save-a-flush is designed for use in toilet cisterns and saves one litre of water (by displacement) per flush. It does this without impairing the proper working of the cistern or harming the plumbing or effecting water quality. It is really easy to install.
How to fit the save-a-flush bag
Its easy! Just follow the steps below
1. Remove the lid and flush your cistern
2. Quickly lower the Save-a-Flush device down into the bottom corner of the cistern under the ball float.
3.Replace the cistern lid and its ready for use.
4.After about 6 hours the bag will have expanded to save 1 litre per flush or for an average family over 3,500 litres per year. Thats the same as 7,000 cups of tea a year!
5. Periodically check that the bag is not obstructing the ball float.
Q.How can I get a free Save-a-Flush?
A.You can order your FREE Save-a-Flush here
If your cistern has been installed since 2000 it will probably have a maximum flush of 6 litres per flush or it is a dual flush cistern. In this case it is recommended that no cistern device is installed as this will result in double flushing.
