I'll give it a go, thanks.

One note though ... it comes as a RAR, by the look of it, so you'll need a RAR extractor like FROG, if you don't already have one.
But if you do go for FROG do a custom install to avoid it loading stuff, changing home page etc etc.. all the usual suspects.

Try open source RAR extractor called 7-Zip - http://www.7-zip.org/.
7-ZIP not only support RAR but also below formats:
Packing / unpacking: 7z, XZ, BZIP2, GZIP, TAR, ZIP and WIM
Unpacking only: ARJ, CAB, CHM, CPIO, CramFS, DEB, DMG, FAT, HFS, ISO, LZH, LZMA, MBR, MSI, NSIS, NTFS, RAR, RPM, SquashFS, UDF, VHD, WIM, XAR and Z.

whts the problem? If I can help. It is easier to deal with.

RAR is nothing but compression format, to make sure files packaged and get small sized.

Do we need to register or enter any codes after TAC is installed?

When you have extracted that RAR file, u got one REG file, run that file first. It has personel use license key and vendor website name and email, which will register on your computer. Then run EXE file to install it.

I think I have done it correctly but is there a way of checking if we have the full version or just a trial version?

Good luck but in my opinion if you have problems extracting RAR files (which are very simple) then you shouldn't really be attempting to use audio converters....

Nice find but many free alternatives about.

Thanks For Posting :p

I think the issue around RAR files is that they're not as common as ZIP files, and people who have experience of Zip files may have never come across RAR.

Correct, I had never encountered RAR files before but now I have the correct software installed and know how to use it then there should be no problems in the future.

Being able to rip the audio from You Tube videos with this is great as there are plenty of alternative versions/ mixes of songs on there that are not available otherwise.

Thank you for posting and for the help in using RAR files.

dBPowerAmp has become my chosen music convertor, nothing seems to come close for its simplicity and effectiveness. I don't think it's free but it's worth paying for, or torrent it to see what it's like first

WinRar is a Windows application to handle RAR files.
7-Zip also does.

It is good to be able to rip the audio from You Tube but a shame it is illegal.
