23 minutes of a film?? OK maybe for Avatar because it was so highly anticipated but Tron is not a billion dollar movie (as much as I enjoyed the orinigal). Marketing tactics I suppose.
#2
I'm only going because it's the Imax :D should be fun.
#3
feel like I've been waiting for ever for this release lol

voted hot X)
#4
No thanks, show me the whole film or nothing.

Cold deal! The find was great, but seriously not impressed with 23 mins, would take me longer to get to/from the cinema lol.

You need to develop your knowledge of marketing...because it is an awesome way of generating a buzz for a movie ;regardless of the budget.

Thanks OP...no Heaven screenings though :p

And the Avata preview wasn't a marketing tactic?

It may be free but why would anyone want to watch only 23 minutes of a film?!

I totally hear where you coming from i will not go to watch this personally as i dont think it is enough time to justify the effort but i dont believe its worth voting as a cold deal.

Nonetheless thats the great thing about the world we all have our opinions

I agree would be 1hour-1 1/2 hours travelling to n from cinema and i would not want to see a bit of a film. Did not vote either way. Hopefully there will be a freebie for the whole film- fingers crossed. xx

You're just validating my point - it's a marketing tactic (i.e. generating a buzz)... god knows where my knowledge of marketing comes into it but whatever.

Yes of course it was - but I think the approach here is different. By providing fans with a 23 minute preview, this film is claiming to be as big as Avatar.

HOT!! Understand the marketing buzz, and the film is not released until December!
#16
It'd ruin the film for me, to be honest... and I'm certainly not going out of my way to make a trip to the cinema for the (dis)pleasure =/

You know, previews existed before Avatar. Why do you feel the need to compare things to this one film? "Claiming to be as big", what does this even mean? It makes no sense! Why should we, the film going public, care how much a film costs to make, or how much it makes if we like it? Your arguments seem inconsistant.

Christ, you make one little passing comment... anyway I'll bite. Firstly, I wasn't even aware that Avatar did the same thing, however the OP referred to this deal as "Like Avatar Day", so I'm guessing that's the benchmark.

I think that you're overreaction to my very reasonable point may have to do with you being secretly in love with Avatar...It's ok, I won't tell.

Previews have been around for a while and being a big movie fan, I love em, but this is the first I've heard of a 23 minute preview - did these exist before Avatar? It all seems a bit pretentious if you ask me. Tron was a great film and the new one looks great, but cutting it down to the first 23 minutes imo is a disgrace. A film should be enjoyed from start to finish in one go... that way you get a feel for the characters and get immersed in the story. Patience is a virtue.

Btw, I voted this hot and thanks to OP for posting as I'm sure a lot of ppl enjoy these previews.

Oh and all hail the Navi! ;)

What are you talking about I've never seen Avatar! YOU keep mentioning Avatar,

"23 minutes of a film?? OK maybe for Avatar because it was so highly anticipated but Tron is not a billion dollar movie (as much as I enjoyed the orinigal). Marketing tactics I suppose."

So again, it's not a billion dollar film, but what does that matter? You chose to ignore this previously. Are you suggesting that only a 'billion dollar movie' should have previews of this nature?

Frukoz
"Yes of course it was - but I think the approach here is different. By providing fans with a 23 minute preview, this film is claiming to be as big as Avatar."

Umm, it doesn't say that it's the first 23 minutes on the website, where are you getting this from?

Jeez, 23 mins or not, if there was one showing anywhere *near* me, I'd be there like a shot! Loved the first film (saw it around 50 times) and can't wait for this to be shown in HD.

Umm...

Just let it go dude, I was simply giving my opinion on these new 23minute previews of blockbusters and how they are now being used to hype up films. You managed to drag this to some sort of personal battle which really isn't adding anything to the thread.

Oh and btw, it says 23 minutes in the deal description as well as on the website.

The site and the deal say it's 23 minutes, you said it was the first 23 minutes. I asked where you got this information from but it would seem as though you're just misinforming people. I clearly quoted you, again you choose to ignore what you actually said, and answer another question which nobody asked.

You said it was ok for Avatar to have this, but not this film because it wasn't a "billion dollar movie". You keep saying things but not backing them up when someone asks what you mean.

Frukoz

Actually if you read the thread you are the one who started making fun of me, perhaps for asking you to backup your claims, but thanks for trying to make me look like the bad guy here. Keep on trolling.

I hear you, thanks to this deal I'll be seeing this preview in IMAX :D

Thanks - one of the showings is near my work :) 23 mins but it's free & not far for me to travel. I am looking forward to this film very much. The listing tells you exactly what your getting & very good for those that are interested.

A 23 minute trailer that you have paid to get too....not really my thing but a good find.

Will they be screening a version of the film with the 23 minutes cut out so that you wouldnt waste any time at all otherwise you will grow old never knowing that MCP was just a chess program once!

Surely paying to get there depends on where you live? Obviously this depends on the individual circumstances. Personally I'll be walking there and back.
#29
Seems totally pointless to me!
#30
Yep I agree - absolutely pointless.

I've been really looking forward to this film but there's no way I'll be going to this.
#31
thank you
#32
This is pointless unless you're geeky and single, even if its marketing you can just watch previews/clips on the official website. Sorry if I hurt anyones feelings
#33
23 minutes?
What's the point?

Can't wait to see the full thing in IMAX like.
#34
stop arguing. This is a site about deals and not a bitching argument. I rarely come on this site now because of it. blah blah blah who gives a crap
