Has anyone actually had a look at this yet? Looking at the author, and the range of games (30?) it would appear to be something patched together rather than a proper ebook.

A guide for "go right and jump on enemies" games? Really? We never needed one when we were 8 and played them.

Look at the preview of the book, I'd say you're right - definitely looks patched together specifically to capitalise on the release of the Classic NES. First couple of pages show a bare minimum of effort. Doesn't look decent for something that costs £2.37........

Screenshots in the guides for particularly tricky to describe bits. No idea whether this guide has 'em though. I doubt it does.

you clearly never played Castlevania 2 with it being made impossible due to bad translation or Zelda 2.

Games were a lot harder back in the day. Just watch some AVGN episodes on youtube and you remember why you needed a Game Genie.

And aside from 'the blob' the lead character was a young Philip schofield?

How to make Quick Man's stage much easier and the weapon you need to beat Dr Wily

I grew up with these games and a lot of this stuff, often stuff needed to actually beat the game, was only possible through ridiculous amounts of trial and error or reading guides. Despite it being pre-gamefaqs, these things were often required reading if you wanted to beat these games.
