Brilliant thanks! Got it to work after reading your post properly!

Already converting a DVD to watch on my iPad. Fingers crossed it works! I have previously tried DVD decrypt, then handbrake. This appears much more simplistic, and hopefully the results will be good!

Ripped a DVD to my laptop and it plays fine, how do I get it onto my iPhone? Can't see how to export it to VLC :|

Depends on the computer my laptop (i7, 8GB Ram) is quoting 2 hours 46 mins (DVD is 1:54)

Thanks, already converted a dvd, now on my ipod. Its a shame my **** laptop converts at around x0.3 speed, but seeing as I have it on for a couple of hours every day anyway im just going to have it working away in the background putting some of my fav fils into my itunes. HOT HOT HOT

I had a similar problem when using my external DVD drive. using the internal one I did a film for my iPad in around 3 - 4 hours. BTW, my laptop has a fairly decent spec
