PLEASE NOTE: This is an internet router only!

You still need an ADSL/cable MODEM to go with this. It has no built in modem.

How do you get rid of the garbage that pixmania default to your cart prior to purchase.

I would point out the NetGear DG384 (which includes adsl/adsl2 modem, just no good for cable connections, but they're a minority of UK broadband anyway) also does 108mbit as that is the speed quoted on my parents laptops when they connect over wifi to the Sky Netgear router (all be it because I installed atheros mini pci cards into their older laptops which seems to be compatible with it)

All,

I purchased this router a few years back and currently use it with my Virgin Media BB. It works fine most of the time but has a well know issue with it whereby the signal drops quite often to 1Mbps and take a minute or so to recover. It also cuts out every now and again then takes a few minutes to be found again. I think it's a problems with overheating but not sure but beware it's need rebooting quite often unlike the ADSL version (which has a modem as well) DG834T (I think) which had no issues at all.

been using this for a while with VM and its superb

put the latest firmware on it and have no issues at all.

paid £60 for it my self so this is a bargain.

not sure about the postage costs though :(

Purchased from pixmania recently and credit card company (skycard) charged a foreign transaction fee because pixmania's transactions are done in germany. BEWARE

That's interesting as I also have exactly the same issue with the 1Mbps drop but for me it's always the modem I have to re-boot...also VMBB also have a drop down policy after 4.00pm through to mid-night...supposed to be for high-end users but I'm beginning to think it's a general policy.

I doubt it's the modem as it happens to me at any time of the day but is never a problem when I'm connected using a LAN cable from the back of the router...

The DG834G is 54MBPS, certainly the one in the picture of the site you link to (ie the v1).

The DG834T is, I believe, 108MBPS compatible.
