Really average packages in my opinion ... I wouldn't personally buy them, but would hold out on better packages.

With a DS lite? Pre-empting Pokémon a bit, aren't they? I got my DS Lite delivered for £80. Dixons are a joke sometimes ...

Sorry once again folks, i did post when they did have stock, don't blame me too harshly.
Dixons do have the stock, but bit pricey

Please don't vote cold, just click expired so other's folks will know.
Bit harsh cold voting, like i say they were in stock

I suspect it was a cold vote due to the seemingly "expensive" packages that were actually in stock. TRU are blatantly shifting the naff games that nobody wants in order to make the package seem appealing.

It's ok, i should be used to it.
Should have just got myself one instead.
Don't really mind, just wanted the wii and a copy of madden.
Didn't pay the extra £20 for summat, could have offloaded for a trade for madden.
That'll teach me to share......

Edit: Even the dixons link i posted now has sold-out
Seems folks will pay whatever it takes to get the console........

Well, I saw a deal last Saturday plunge into the icy depths of minus 40 I think it was. The Wii's were in stock for 3 whole hours with 2 good games and Brain Academy for £255 delivered. Personally, I had Zelda and TW2008, which made it a good deal on the day.

Arrived 2 working days later.

The Wii-mania is sheer madness. I got mine on first attempt (and am still quite shocked)

I didn't see it back then.
I wouldn't have posted that as a separate thread tbh, cos it is pricey as you say, ds for effective £95 isn't SO bad but not great by any means.

I did have the chance to get one on release night, but got bored queuing lol from 10pm, just couldn't be bothered, then spent next few weeks desparately trying

I just wanna play madden cos 08 isn't on old skool xbox (even though it is in the States)

Is it worth the hype and hassle to get one? Or just another gimmick? Bear in mind, i played madden on the GC and aside from Hitman 2, not much else.....

Well I was nervous about taking the plunge and I must admit that I am very surprised at how fun the Wii actually is. Zelda plays really well with the nunchuck - very intuitive and exceptionally easy to control. Felt a lot more like the N64 than I expected.

The free Wii Sports is a real hit - Nintendo have done well. Simple, yet so fun ... with more than one person! My girlfriend and I played a good bit of bowling and she rarely plays games, but loves this. She's just got her own flat and is gutted that I have a Wii and she doesn't! Wii Play is also blindingly fun

It's a huge centre-piece for a party, there's no question about that. The expensive peripherals are a bit annoying at the moment though.

Otherwise, the hype for me has been spot-on. I'd just about given up on gaming (even with a rather decent PC setup), but even at 22, I feel 13 again playing on the Wii - I really love playing games for the first time in 5 or 6 years!
