Don't be surprised if this memory doesn't work in your computer. It is much safer to buy a matched pair than individual cheap memory sticks like this...
Back in February when I did a big upgrade of my computer, I bought some cheap memory from Scan that looked a lot like the memory in the picture. I have just checked and they are still selling it now...
1GB MicronMajor, DDR2 PC2-6400 (800), 240 Pins, Non-ECC Unbuffered, CAS 5
In fact the picture on Microdirect looks identical, just a smaller version.
This memory didnt work in my Gigabyte DS3 mobo. I now use two matched pairs, one is G.Skill, the other is Geil. You dont need to go for the more expensive memory like Corsair to be safe, just as long as its a matched pair and a brand that you have heard of.
i have just had a 2nd look at Scan and I see they sell The
AeneonMajor memory too (512MB tho), as well as the MicronMajor. Since they look identical and have similar names I am guessing the memory is identical and would therefore not work for me. You are taking a risk if you buy this. As I live near Scan in Bolton it was easy for me to take it back and get a refund.
