PC World Price match instore with online retailers

1520°

FOUND BY: Rustybucket 6 months, 1 week ago

Attached vouchers: 5% at PC World

PC World are offering a price match scheme that is completely unlike the sort of service I'd expect from DSG. Basically Point of Sale in their store states they will price match with high street retailers within 30 miles of the store and with online retailers that are on the Hitwise top 10.

If you ask about this offer instore the chances are most staff will look at you blankly. It took me 20 minutes on their "helpline" to drag confirmation of this offer out of them and for them to confirmm it with the store manager.

Although I didn't make note of a complete list (some stores mentioned were known for being pricey), I was shocked that they will price match instore with these online shops.

Ebuyer * Dabs * Misco * Dixons online.

Prices need to include VAT and delivery and the item needs to be in stock, but when I presented the printout of the price (some £35 saving on a £149.99 ticket item) there was no dispute.

I noticed that Amazon was excluded from a price match, just in case you were wondering.

First submitted deal. Hope it's ok. I'll look forward to hearing the stories of success (and probably some failure) from these box shifters. ;)

Price match also includes:

pcworld.co.uk
apple.com
dell.com
- Rustybucket

Will now price match with:

Amazon.co.uk*, Argos, Asda, B&Q, Comet, Dabs*, Dell, Evesham Technology*, Game, Gamestation, Halfords, HMV, Jessops, John Lewis, Maplin, Misco*, Play, Staples, Tesco, Toys r Us, Virgin, Woolworths

It was an Ebuyer printout that I took in. Good luck.

I forgot to mention that Apple UK and Ireland were included in the deal too.

I have little time for these (in my personal opinion) gormless prats - but they DO match Amazon too. I got Karman Hardon ... sorry Harman Kardon Speakers for £89 after such a pricematch with Amazon - plus 10% off the price difference too .. they stock it at £156 so thats about a fiver less you see. Great!. Also a set of JBL Creature II blacks for about £42 .. .they sell them for £69 in store. Thats the only reason its worth going in for tho'. Oh yeah one other thing . the Fuji Z10FD camera is very cheap at Dixons so get them to price match that too!

I would double check with them on their helpline about the Amazon match. It changes according to how the Hitwise list goes. I was shocked they didn't mention Amazon. This may be because she had no clue on the phon, but it might also be a shifting list of retailers.

If in doubt and the price match is best with Amazon, check with their "helpline " first, folks.

So, if I go instore and want to buy a router which Amazon have for £45 and they sell for £70, I may get it for Amazons price? I may try that!

My local Currys just pricematched Dixons online, bringing a Nikon L11 down from their price of £79.99 to Dixons £64.05.
I just took the print out of the Dixons website to the till, and made sure it said they had them in stock at Dixons.

You say the price must include delivery as well, what happens in the even of Dixons, where you arrange to pick it up in store, will they still match the price advertised?

just a quick point that the PCWorld instore will always pricematch their own online price.

and on their website,
"Competitor sites checked include Amazon, Argos, Comet, Misco, Dabs, Tesco Direct, ebuyer, Staples, Asda"

why no scans.co.uk???

wonder someone could find out if they will price match somewhere with a discount code e.g 10% off dixons online code or something, this could be great news if u didnt want to wait 3 days or whatever for an item to arrive, just drive to your local pc world.

I very much doubt they would match a price with a discount code, next you will be asking to to discount quidco as well ;)
