just ordered this myself on the weekend ... waiting for delivery ... the player can be found slightly cheaper elsewhere but ive not seen the same FREE dvd offer with it :)

Description

the hd-e1 doesnt do 1080p ..... this new model does ;)

Since they have 300 - which so far has been the only HD-DVD I've seen that's evidently better than regular scaled DVD - I think it's great. Of course, I believe the americans are now getting HD-DVD players in walmart for $200 - so we're really being ripped off here..

yeah... but the problem with the american market is the have had hd tv for years... we are lagging behind big style .....the 5 free dvds i know are available with a 360 drive ... but this comes with an extra 2 free discs ...... plus its a standalone player no extra things needed ( xbox or even pc ) t play it ...

seems like a good deal to me ...thats why ive bought it

I dont see HD doing much now the major players are going for the other format. For once maybe SONY have regained there loss from the Betamax VHS fiasco?

I was a victim back then and must say betamax was better than vhs.

As deals go its ok, but dead in the water if the format goes stagnant.
