i think this is the cheapest 512mb 8600gt graphics card i have seen. i am looking to buy this. don't really know how much postage is because its based on the weight. but it should be around £3.

btw, can someone suggest me a amd motherboard to be compatible with this graphics card?

Any particular reason for going for this card? You can get a superior PowerColor X1950Pro AC2 512MB DDR3 for only £10 extra off eBuyer. Benchmark comparison list (256Mb cards compared). According to the benchmarks even a X1950GT's better than the 8600GT.

Any AMD motherboard with a 16x PCI-E slot would do. To suggest a few specific ones, please tell us your budget & the exact AMD CPU you're thinking of using with this.

P.S. Another 8600GT for 70.49 at Scan - the 512MB XFX 8600GT lower down the list. A better make than the Novatech-branded one I reckon. To get free delivery see http://www.avforums.com/forums/scan_offer.php & http://www.hotukdeals.com/deal/54210/scan-free-postage-offer-is-back

not sure why people bother posting these kind of things, especially when it's signficatnyl more expensive than other sites.

do you think this is a good enough graphic card to play top notch games? my budget is £80 for graphics card and £50 for motherboards.

er, not totally sure, best advice is to read some hardware sites first, you are supposed to be check before you post that it actually is a hot deal.... If you want advice, this isn't the way to get it.

If you haven't purchased yet go for an Intel Core 2 Duo (C2D) instead, which are better in games.

No, for that you'll ideally need a 8800GT (& an Intel motherboard if you go for a C2D).

P.S. A mod should move this away from the Deals section

fahim,
check some reviews m8, mainly though DDR3 is that much more efficient than DDR2
that 256 DDR3 is better than equivalent 512 DDR2.

If you wait, scan drop the price on the ones your lookin at.
512 DDR2 to£60 on deal of the day

secondly, m8 please don't rush it, DX10 is not tru DX10 yet,
so next gen DX10 (poss q1 2007)games won't play on these gfx,
they will revert DX9, google DX10 graphics cards compared to DX9

BTW message me if ur paying more than £69 for your 5600+ X2

more pipelines the better
go for highest model rather than spec, (like buying a hi end ford focus st, when a standard mondeo runs smoother and better spec and more room)

ie 7800 is better than 7600XXX edition
7600 is better than 6800XXX edition

same with 8600 to 8500

get a lifetime guarantee if possible, (especially good if pre clocked too)

all in all it's up to you,
and enjoy shopping around and using it....see you on the battlefield

sorry for the epic post but really important-
get the best bundle for your money,
some have extras, game/games, link leads, HD acessories sh8 I've even seen tshirts in with em,
the best of them recently had a 51/4" drive slot that fires up the gpu and memory clock and cooling, all with a twist of a tuning knob, cool.
