I have the exact same laptop (got it from Comet for the same price) and it's excellent. I'd highly recommend it!

The only gripe is Vista Basic, which would need to be replaced.

Yes it is Santa Rosa. It is using the SR chipset with a Celeron Processor, the SR chipset has the intergrated graphics X3100!

Yes it is Santa Rosa. It is using the SR chipset with a Celeron Processor, the SR chipset has the intergrated graphics X3100!

I swear the new centrino laptops are being called santa rosa, and not only that they should also wear a wireless n card with the X3100 graphics card to be called that, im i wrong???

Yer it is santa rosa, which is the new intel chipset. Centrino is just the name given to laptops that use this chipset and feuture a core 2 duo processor. Wireless N is optional and all santa-rosas have x3100 graphics like this acer or 3rd party via/nvidia/ati.

Santa Rosa is just an intel chipset, like Napa - the previous chipset that uses GMA 950.

Centrino is intel branding for a system that use an 3 intel specific components.

So with most current laptops that you find with the centrino badge, you ll see a intel chipset (SR or Napa), an intel Core processor and an Intel wireless card.

This particular model is not centrino branded as it does not meet the requirements, but it uses the latest SR chipset.
