OK, for warned is for armed! pc world will kick up a stink when price matching, but its there rules not mine!so dont give up!

first, go here and print off the price from play.com (sorry play) for the same card http://www.play.com/Mobiles/Mobile/4-/3251313/Sandisk-Micro-SD-2GB/Product.html

second, print off price of micro sd from pcworld here. http://www.pcworld.co.uk/martprd/store/pcw_page.jsp?BV_SessionID=@@@@0703736700.1197175588@@@@&BV_EngineID=ccggaddmkdlfldjcflgceggdhhmdgmi.0&page=Product&fm=null&sm=null&tm=null&sku=568547&category_oid=

third, download the terms of the price match was price match plus 10% but upon writing this thread they might have changed it just to price match. call the number given and reserve in store. you will get an order number from the caller ensure to get there name as well and direct contact number this helps when the argument starts.

finally go to your local pcworld store with stock and pay under a tenner for a nice 2gb micro sd

R4 owners smile :)

You just know the manager of your local store won't do this.

To be honest , is it worth all this hassle for a quid. You may as well just order from play, com
Your transport costs to get to the store is surely going to be more the the £1 you save.

Agree totally, so is not worth all the hassle to save a £1.

Like said, by the time you've driven down there, had all the hassle of parking. Given the store manager some lip, just to save a £1

Cold i'm afraid

play.com - you order, you receive it in usuallly 2 - day working days (i tend too).

pcworld - you walk in, talk to a member of staff (DOESNT HAVE TO BE A MANAGER) they price match as you bring in play.com price match... you get that day.

Hot deal if you need it that day. Don't see why people are voting cold. If theres a PCW near you, and you need it, then why not!

I work in PCW most weekends for an agency and every weekend they are getting more and more customers doing this and getting more used to it. At first they wern't sure what they could price match etc, however management in my store now just say if its under their price match list then match it.

Is there any real benefit from the faster card at extra cost?

I heard somewhere that you get 2Gb decimal which is about 1.8Gb binary and all computers work in binary, we work in decimal.

My hard disk is 80Gb decimal, 80,023,232,512 bytes decimal, and 74.5Gb binary.

Ignore the bad rating, Sandisk are good.

I've had no problems with PC World price matching. Even from the websites.

A bit convoluted for such a small saving. But the tactic is useful and could be applied to bigger ticket items.

Also, the phrase you were looking for is 'forewarned is forearmed' with an e and no space.

if ur near a pc world and want one then its there for the taking, and to argue with pc world staff is one of the most enjoyable things i can do. i would pay a quid to do that

any way hot or cold spelling mistakes and all i got one from them and watching them squirm as they have to reduce an item by 50% is priceless!

ps, i prefer play.com they do a great service

voting hot, dont need one, i got some from play, HOWEVER as it gets closer to christmas and the post slows down as it always does, i feel more people will take up this offer of going into a real shop and getting the product there and then rather than worry if it gets mysteriously lost in the post, oddly around the same sort of time that royal mail take on loads of temp staff, or delayed through volume of post.

play normaly takes 4-5 days to arrive for me, however the memory cards turned up within 3 days, this was 3 weeks ago.
