cannot view hotukdeals in firefox on my desktop, please help

Hi Everyone, I'm having to use my notebook to do this as my desktop refuses to view hotukdeals

I'm using firefox on my desktop and since the site has been changed its not been working, just coming up page not found etc.

I've tried :

Reinstalling firefox
Resetting computer
Deleting the firefox default profile
Deleting page history and other things that have been cached with firefox
Resetting my internet connection and router (it cannot be this has my notebook is connected to it)
Entering the web address from google, ask and a few other search engines.

All i get is the same problem, : page not found,

it all worked fine before the new site came online

Can anyone help

Also are you trying to get onsite using a bookmark? Try typing www.hotukdeals.com directly into the address bar.

hi people, ok tried IE, still not working and tried entering www.hotukdeals from address bar, bookmark folder

I have adjusted the bookmark address several times with no luck

It doesnt make sense this because my laptop works fine on the same connection

All other sites work fine on the desktop, just cant understand why hotukdeals isnt working

just a quick update, just reset router, made sure all plugs are connected etc, and still no joy

all other websites, such as google, ebay, mse, youtube, myspace are working fine

Do you have any netnanny type programs on your PC, ie Peer Guardian etc? Just wondering if HUKD has managed to make it onto the banned list somehow. Failing that is there anybody with computer knowledge in your house that could have messed with the Hosts file on the computer?

i did have peer guardian running, but that was one of the first thing that i disabled, mcafee has also been disabled.

I'm the only person that uses the PC and have access to it, like i say the last time it worked on the desktop was before the site update

I'm really out of ideas now

Ok well paste this into explorer : C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc

Have a look at the hosts file (open it in notepad) and see if theres a line that reads 127.0.0.1 www.hotdeals.co.uk or similar. If so then delete it, reboot and try again. If not then i'm out of ideas as well, unless its a firewall problem on the PC You're sure that PG is definately switched off? Also do you have a proxy server setup on your browser? Might be worth checking and disabling if you do, check the laptop too as it may be the other way round, you can connect to the site becasue it has a proxy set up.... Oh the speculation

ok just tried the ethernet in the notebook and the site loads fine on the notebook, same port and cable as the desktop was plugged into

plugged the same cable back into desktop and again still no sign of life
