EXPIRED - Creative Labs EP-630 in-ear headphones: £7.99 @ Amazon

£7.99

298°

FOUND BY: dean_brfc 1 year, 11 months ago

A great price for these headphones which get excellent reviews. Any of you who might receive an mp3 player this Christmas will almost certainly want to replace the hideous headphones that will come with it, and these look as good as any unless you want to spend £25+. Something else would probably have to be ordered at the same time to make this a fantastic deal, delivery charge on top brings this to £11+.

Specifications:

Creative Labs EP-630 in-ear headphones:

* Created to complement MP3 players
* Rubber earbuds block external sounds and enhance bass
* Lightweight, comfortable design, for a better audio experience
* Oxygen-free copper cable for maximum audio delivery
* Outstanding low-to-high frequency response, from 6Hz to 23kHz
* 8mm Neodymium magnet transducers for outstanding audio clarity and detail

These may not be the same, but they look almost EXACTLY like these senhisser cx300's. I expect they are made in the same factory but may not be quite as good?
This a very good price, thanks for posting.

The only thing I hate about them is the stupid shiny chrome plastic (edit, it is actually polished metal, so I partially forgive them but it still looks horrible. The one time polished metal is used instead of chrome just happens to be where I would really prefer it to not be shiny...) which I may do something about... I use them for work everyday and quite often take them out leaving them dangling round my neck, where the chrome probably makes me look incredibly stupid as if it was some kind of bling.
I bought the cx300's to replace two pairs of mx300's and really need a second pair for home use.. if the cable lasts as long as the mx's then I will be very happy (well over a year of everyday usage with a lot of abuse (like ran over with a chair twice a day). There are some reviews that indicate the cx's wont though.

See below for a general comment about bud type in ear headphones from the WHICH? website headphones review.

[i]Don't Buys

Apart from the Sennheiser CX 300, we would advise you to steer clear of the other plug earphones we tested.

Our listeners described them as harsh and lacking in bass. They're tricky to fit and once in, they can amplify the sound of head movements and noises when you knock the cable.

But most worryingly of all, one member of our panel they said they found them painful and another claimed they gave him a headache.

Give a wide berth to two Bluetooth models – the Creative CB2530 and the Saitek A-350. Our panel complained of distortion and buzzing and a dull and muffled sound.

In particular, the Saitek A-350 – which looks like a prop from Star Trek – were very tricky to fit and difficult to use. Adjusting the volume is challenging as there's a separate control on each ear pad.

From my experinence with the CX300's...
I belive that depends on how well you know your own ears. Since buying these I have discovered the inner part of my ear points to the back of my head rather than as I thought, to the center/front. When you get used to them they are fine.
The do definitely have increased movement noise from the cable, Ones voice also sounds different. Very similar to having your head under water.. due to the slightly increased air pressure when you insert them.

They do have much louder bass, but its easly adjustable by pulling them out a little, the small adaptors fit me best and dont fall out.

edit: from FindMemory they are £4.32. I have never used amazon before.. are the other companys that sell though amazon good and reliable?

I would never recommend getting Cx300s from the amazon marketplace or ebay - there are too many fakes about - only buy from Amazon itself or another reputable shop. I ended up with a set of fakes months ago and the sound quality was terrible. It was only through websites showing me how to tell the fakes from real that I could see I'd been ripped off. I bought a genuine set of Cx300 from amazon and they are great. I might give these Creative ones a go too!

Paid £30 for these about a year ago, they're brilliant. Might pick up a spare set at this price.

I've got these and the sennheisers, theres hardly any difference, I'd get two pairs of these for the price. Not really worth spending a fortune on earphones as I have broken so many.

These are the best in-ear phones I have owned. An absolute bargain at this price. Don't be tempted to buy them from an unknown source there are lots of fakes out there. Anyway why go anywhere else when Amazon have them at 7.99. I'm going to buy a spare pair.

If you can get used to ramming them in your ear you will be rewarded with a very deep bass. Incredible for the money (before the sale)

I brought these a little while ago from Amazon but sent them back. I wanted something a little different to the one's that came with my Zen Plus but wish I hadn't bothered with these. There is simply no Bass with them and no matter what I did with them nothing improved. I put the Bass up to maximum on my GE and also switched the Bass Boost on but nothing changed. Absolute rubbish in my honest opinion and wouldn't worry about purchasing them. Seriously they are rubbish and I did buy them directly from Amazon and not 'Market Place'

Ive had a pair of these for a couple of weeks and i can highly recommend them. The sound quality is a million miles better than from the stock apple h/phones and some sennheiser ones from my old iriver.
There is a knack to getting them in and make sure you use the right size buds (come with three fittings) 'cos if you dont they will sound naff.
BTW i listen to a lot of dance music and the bass is very deep and clear.

stevecat - you need to insert them properly into your ear to get the bass. Look at the instructions given by members in the feedback section of these earphones at the amazon web site..
