1) That's the "New" tab. Click on All > All > New in the 3 navigation bars and you'll see the latest threads from all forums. You can now narrow this by forum or category or both.

2) Not quite sure what you mean.

3) That's the "Discussed" tab.

It's not my place to talk about the bans. Admin is a fair man. Although the door is closed and locked for some, I should imagine that the doorbell is in full working order.

2. I mean that on old site topics were displayed using different font/colour combinations:
a) Bold: New topic, never read by me.
b) Semi-bold: Topic I've read but new replies were posted
c) Normal: Topic I've read and no new replies were posted
On this forum, only "a" and "c" fonts are avaible, so I can't distinguish between "b" and "c" - the only way to do so it to remember number of posts/thread, which is difficult.

I find it easier to navigate the site in text mode, there seems to be more options and info.

New: List the threads with the latest at the top.
Discussed: Lists the threads with the most recently discussed thread at the top.

If you view in text mode Posts never read by you will be bold.
Post that have been read will be normal. (edit: they go back to bold if there are unread threads in the post)

You can see if a post has had any replies by looking at the number of comments on the righthand side of the posts.

Don't know how the database works but I get the impression that reading/writing to the database is not done in real time and take a minute or two to synchronize. Then again it could be a bug with FireFox and the cache

Tip:
In text only mode clicking on the down arrow at the left hand side of the post title, will take you to the last thread that you read in that post.

I switched navigation to text mode immediately when I saw the change. And it ddn't help.
And the New and Discussed behavior is very strange. For example:

New:

As you can see, there are a lots of posts with 0 views and 0 replies in it. Two problems here:
1. How the heck a reply can be posted without thread viewed?
2. Why posting times are not in ascendant order?

Now, let's take a look at Discussed tab:

As you can see, threads with 0 replies (although not with 0 views! weird) can't make its way to this tab. Actually, I would expect such behavior. But the New MUST show everything and it MUST be sorted by time, not by some strange algorithm, if it was planned to behave exactly the same way as "Todays post" on old forum.

They are - the only thing you can see is the time of the replies, but the actual threads are shown in order of posting.

But why? I don't care when the thread was posted - it could be ages ago. All I want is to be able to sort it by the time of last reply, exactly as it was on old forum.

As Stora said, best to use text mode only in the 1st instance.
Now, the "discussed" button i have found is the key here Kommunist

If you want to see say the most recent, as in chronological order of posts in the (for example) Misc sub forum.

Click misc
Click discussed.
This will arrange them in chronological order of the most recent threads that have been posted in

Threads you have posted in
This will have a subtle small icon i have noticed. The small arrow, left to right, shows threads i myself have posted in

Threads you have read
I have noticed that these for me at least will not be in bold
I am using firefox 2.0.0.11 with NONE of the updates recommended on here.

Hope that makes a bit of sense, if not, i'll try again

If you sort by "New" it shows the NEWEST POSTED THREADS. So it shows the deals that have only justbeen posted for example.

In text-only view I suppose "b" is that the username of the last poster in the right hand column is bold where there's been replies which we've not seen before.

The trouble is that "discussed" seems to show only the threads that were er... discussed. No replies - no show, as screenshots above demonstrate. And New button seems to have a very unusual sorting algorithm.

Thanks - I never paid any attention to these icons as I am using a "subscribed topic" indication instead. By default all topics I am participating in are automatically sibscribed to.

Correct. Neither it is for me. Which is a real problem. On the old site these were shown with some kind of in-between font - not bold and not normal.

There is no crazy sorting algorithm for the new tab. It's in order of the date and time of the first post in the thread. We had this on the old site, it was called "View all unrated deals".

The discussed tab does show deals without replies. The discussed tab sorts threads in order of the date and time of the last post.

No, it is not. If there was no reply to thread it won't appear in DISCUSSED. Which is logical, BTW.

It is the same whethere there were or weren't replies.

Sorry but that's not what happens here Kommunist.
See below pic. I have clicked ALL/ALL and Discussed and there is a thread, no replies, no views but does show up in the chronological order:

As for the bold/non bold, does that not help? If a thread is NOT in bold, you have read it at least once, if it is in bold, it's a thread you haven't read. I will add mind, i only use this pc, so if you are logging on say at home, go to work and use a different pc with your account, i am not sure what the behaviour would be.
The graphic is very subtle for subscribed threads i will admit to that
