34% off Price Cap for Railcard and Oyster Pre-Pay Users...

302°

FOUND BY: Richard Pinder 2 years, 1 month ago

You can now add your Railcard (Young Persons, HM Forces, Disabled Persons & Senior) to your existing Oyster Card account, and get 34% off daily top-up travelcards...

Go to your local tube station and get your Railcard loaded onto your Oyster Card!

I think that this is new for this year... Well worth it if you fall into any of the above groups!

I loaded my YP Railcard onto my student Oyster today... I suspect that you can only load it onto one card... Not sure why you would need two cards, unless one was expenses?

Well, i'v just checked TFL's website. It seems it only applies to daily capping (1 Day travel card) .
OFF PEAK ONLY.

OFF PEAK zones 1-2 with this offer costs £3.10
OFF PEAK zones 1-2 WITH OUT this offer £4.80

According to the site, I believe that the only time a National Rail Railcard will apply will be for the daily tickets when using "pay as you go" credit loaded on to the Oyster, not for Travelcards loaded on to the Oyster. Unless someone can confirm otherwise? Still, with a 3rd off daily capped PAYG Oyster prices, it makes it a better deal than 7-day travelcards if you only generally travel 5 or 6 days a week...

Just checked website, it looks like the deal only applies when travelling offpeak. If you travel peak time you will pay the same as everyone else.

Peak time tho are only 4:30 to 9:30am mon to fri, so most of the time you can travel with this reduced fare. This is a very hot deal! Helps me out loads!

I can travel road central london all day for £3.10!!!!

HOTHOTHOT

Does anyone know if I can 'load my YP Railcard' onto an EXISTING Oyster as opposed to having to get a new one? The reason I ask is that I have a Barclaycard Oyster so it would be too much effort otherwise!

Unfortunately it does not look like you can use a Network Railcard....which is a bit of a bummer, as I'm not under 25 or an OAP yet, and I'm not disabled, and have not been in the armed forces.

Maybe I should sue Ken Livingstone for discrimination!!!!
