It's funny how every one is talking about saving energy etc. one minute and then products like this appear.... Keeps the water hot for 3 hours? What a waste - just boil the kettle again!

It keeps it hot by minimising heat loss, not by constantly heating it! Boiling the kettle again would be wasting energy - exactly what this kettle is designed to avoid.

Oops - I understand now sorry! My parents have one that keeps it hot by warming it which is an absolute waste! This is a better idea yes - I take back my previous comment!

Interestingly enough, comments on Amazon have suggested frustration with reboiling as even up to an hour after first boil the kettle will not allow you to reboil! So this kettle really is good at energy saving -just not that good for making tea/coffee!

I Have this kettle and its a nightmare, it will not boil again as the thermostat detects the water is still warm, yeh but not warm enough for a hot cuppa. Sounds like a steam train when its boiling. Mine is going back to tesco's very soon. Oh yeh and it has no filter in it either, so you will be drinking limescale after a while.

yes some of the Amazon reviews are a tad concerning..

PLEWSY, how long have you had yours..? I have given it a boil, poured a cuppa, 15 mins later poured another and it was plenty hot, then 15 mins later poured another and it was hot enough but I thought I would try to reboil and it worked fine,,,

personally I think its worth £25 quid..

and some of the reviews on Amazon about how loud it is, blimey, lets hope they never buy a 3k rapid boil

Arn't all rapid boil kettles noisy? Something to do with bursting air bubbles in the water I think created by the rapid temperture change of the base plate.

Totally agree with this statement. I also bought this kettle and as well having the problem with boiling it again when the water is not quite hot enough, I found re-filling it a pain. Ended up taking it back after less than 3 months as it packed up working altogether on xmas day!!
