In a recent survey, 7 out of 10 DVD users said both formats are a waste of money. Therefore they're BOTH dead in the water.

But yeah John, I agree, too much of this BS ruining potentially good deals for those that actually can benefit from them. That Amazon thread is a complete joke.

This would apply to most of the Blu-Ray 'Fanboy' stuff I've seen.

I own neither but have often 'poked my head round the door' of these threads while trying to gauge if it's even approaching the time to look at upgrading.
(Might take a while replacing over a thousand odd discs??!?!)

The first post in the title is 'exempt' from any automatic formatting as the way the system is setup only the posts after are proper forum posts. You'll also notice people can post ebay links in their first post, as well as restrictions such as not being able to post clickable links, pictures etc.

I think on HD-DVD's then the comments aren't needed - but on HD-DVD players a comment linking and quoting to a news article showing the format is dead is acceptable. Just think if someone bought it and didn't know!

Have you actually looked at the player threads? they are a complete and utter mess. Out of 50 posts, about 5 are typically about the player, 10 posts will be a link to a news story about the demise of hddvd, 10 will be "haha you choose the wrong one - use as a door stop" and the rest are petty squabbles.....

I realise mods time is limited but it is the same members time and time again. What about issuing them with some warnings?

Earlier on JB posted to tell people to keep on topic, she was ignored. I don't find that acceptable, it shows no respect towards her as a mod

Well the current EP30 thread is a total mess, 15 pages and I think about 5 posts are about the player - is it possible a mod can clean out this thread and simply update the first post to mention Toshiba dropping out? Or does pretty much every post need reported?
