Remote control dimmable lights - shame they can't deliver by Valentine's Day!

http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/12930...do-these-work/

Same price as when I posted them here ^^^ (although not as a deal).

I've been very impressed with them so far BUT I would only trust them on a lamp. They seem to turn on and off by increasing/decreasing the voltage very quickly (whereas with other sets you hear a click of a relay or something). You can also dim things very easily by pressing the on/off button slightly too long (or if a kid gets hold of one/you sit on it). Personally I wouldn't want to dim a set of speakers or a computer by mistake!

Other than that they are very good. Unusual to find a set where they all dim. They also have manual settings on them so even if the power goes out it remembers which socket it's meant to be controlling which can be a problem with most other sets.

These are quite good.................if you can get them in the socket in the first place. I had an extension built a few years ago and these things will just not go in. Normal plugs do so there must be an ever so slight size difference. Saying that they do go into my older socket in the rest of the house.

I would say your extension has funny sockets!

WHAT???

Find a cheaper set that allows you to remotely dim 3 sockets??? With a controller that allows control of 5 sockets (more if you double up)???

Good luck!

These look like the frequency is set by dip switch, so you could press 1 button to control 1 or more sockets at the same time. Or individually control say 10 sockets with 2 controllers Hot! Hot! Hot!

Hot deal for remote sockets but be aware they can not be used for anything else but lamps.
Bought these a month ago for this price but if you plug a tv it will not power up.

300 WATT MAX per socet
You can’t use a dimmer on a fan as it’s a motor I’m sure an Electrician or Engineer can explain
Great for garden lighting as long as the sockets are kept indoors. I’ve ordered 3 sets

For some reason - don't know why - last night I was looking at this person's previous postings. It appears that she(?) doesn't have a good word to say about any deal and votes almost everything "stone cold"!! Has never posted a deal herself, just slates everyone elses. (And whistles a lot)!

Now when these are available with infrar red I will get some. It would be cool to program these into my harmony remote but it wont do RF.

Not too likely I guess as there are not very many times where you are within line of sight of these things. Much nicer to be able to use them without being able to see them,
