Do we have a brand and model detail? Any impressions from people who have bought? Is it one store or a nationwide offer?

I saw this tonight too so likely to be nationwide, the brand is in the title, Durabrand

There is a difference between a bargain and a bit of kit thats made to a low price.
My feeling is that this brand is not the best.

As nippykev points out, the brand is certainly not the best. However - if the product fails within a year you have the guarantee that Asda will replace it without quibble or refund your money.

For the price you are paying, this is an absolute steal and there are many folk out there who can't justify spending lots of money on an upscaling HDMI DVD player.

So, until I hear evidence that this system IS **** then I'll give it the benefit of the doubt and vote hot on this deal.

have got these in my local store (runcorn) only the make is DUAL i presume it is the same company as durabrand also does not come with a hdmi cable

OK I bought the pair for £40, could be a pile of brown stuff but will let you know as soon possible what I think.

Just bumping this back up, still available in store.

Has anyone bought one and are they actually any good?

Ironically I had time last night to install the DVD player. Playing at 1080P I would say I was impressed with this small player. The unit (Dual DDVDHI) is small and black and seems to do what it says on the tin. A bargain price IMO. Just having the lounge decorated so won't be putting the speakers to test for 3-4 weeks but will report back then about what I found.

Yesterday (Monday 3 March) the "Dual" HDMI DVD player was on the shelves of the Cramlington, Northumberland Asda for £20 (it was £25 last week.)
