I agree with the article, neither will win in the long run - its a bit of a hollow victory for Blue-ray if thats the way its going. The lifespan of HD or Blue Ray was never going to match that of VHS videos or DVD's as the technology is evolving faster now. By the time this battle is completely settled then it will be irrelevent. To the ordinary man on the street its not worth upgrading to HD or Blue-ray at the moment as they have probably got 2 or 3 dvd players around the home and lots still haven't got HD TV's to take advantage of the format. I think we will be downloading more to our PC's or devices in the coming years and streaming stuff around the house, so discs won't be needed. You can already do it, but it will become cheaper and easier. We may even be going to shops with memory sticks to put into a machine and select a movie to buy then taking it home to plug into your PC or other device to watch in glorious HD. Whatever happens you are guaranteed that something is around the corner to replace Blue-ray and HD. Anyone else got any ideas for the future?
p.s. I have an Xbox360 but I wouldn't buy the HD drive, but its still a good price if you really want one
