Relisting items

POSTED BY: pboreham 2 months, 3 weeks ago

I've just had a warning for re-listing items (DVDs).

I feel I've waited a long enough time before relisting the remaining items (as well as adding more items, so its not a total duplicate).

I PM'd a moderator a few weeks back and asked if I could relist some items again as the thread had run out of steam and dropped way down the boards.

I think we should be allowed to relist items again - BUT, the old threads should be removed (or archived for reference). I'm not for constant spamming of the For Sale board, but if its been a fair time since the last response on the thread, why not be allowed to close and repost.

And I dont think its a case of "if people have stopped replying then theres a good reason" (i.e. nobody wants the goods) - as whenever my DVD threads get bumped back up the boards, I have often had messages follow quite quickly from other interested parties when they see the thread.

What do other people think?

You could, in all fairness, be more conservative with your bumps. You're allowed two. How about not making one for at least a few days, or even a week?

What constitutes a bump though? If I reply to somebodies question (or to thank them etc), does that count as a bump?

A bump is a post which doesn't add anything extra to the thread. Answering a question is OK. Thanking someone is OK. But, if these are being used to bring threads to the top too much then they will be considered as bumps too.

It's a bit of common sense. You shouldn't be posting straight after yourself either. There should be someone else's post in between at least. Again, common sense prevails.

most feel a bump is when they actually post "bump", a bump basically is anything considered to just get your post back to the top of the board

So is it judged manually by the mods then? I was under the impression it was an automated process - i.e. everytime you posted in your own thread, that was considered a bump...?

It's all done on a case by case basis by the moderators.
