European motoring kit - half price £3.50 @ Aldi

£3.50

135°

FOUND BY: T--J 1 year, 8 months ago

While picking up my bargain 12V 150W power Inverter for my bargain Dell laptop, I noticed this Profile Autones Auto-XS European Motoring Kit - a bargain for anyone who might have booked the Norfolkline Early Booking bargain. :-D

This kit is essential for any motorist taking their vehicle abroad. Kit includes:

- GB Sticker
- Headlight Deflectors
- Replacement Bulb Kit

It's available online from www.vgroupinternational.com for £8.07 including delivery, a similar kit (without the bulbs) is available from Halfords for £8.49 and the Headlight Deflectors alone are £6.99!

It's not listed on the website so it may be just surplus stock at Pontypridd but I thought it was worth posting for anyone local and just in case it's available elsewhere. They also had about 30 of the power inverters if anyone local is looking for them.

I went to Calais on Sunday and it now seems that you also have to have a high viz vest in the car as well. Good find though as the GB stickers alone cost about £3-4 on the ferries.

I was in Calais on Saturday!

Sans Aldi kit but I did have a spare set of halogen headlamp bulbs from Poundland

And my cheap GB sticker was printed out on photo paper and stuck in the back window too

No need for GB sticker if you have GB (Euro ) type plates on your vehicle.

Hi Viz Jacket is a must in Spain, and must be reachable from the drivers seat.

As well as a spare set of driving glasses, if used normally.

Oh and of course, 2 reflective triangles.

Licence and insurance must be carried at all times.

Just been to Aldi and they didn't have a power converter or european driving kit... they'd never even heard o them.

Has anyone seen these in any of the north west stores?

They'd never heard of the power converter in Merthyr (10 miles away) even though I spotted the 300w one in the glass display cabinet. Pontypridd is a large new store so maybe they're just being distributed to stores that have room in their display for them. So you know what to look for, they're in clear plastic, cylindrical pods and were positioned on the end of an aisle close to the motoring goods - the kit was in a rack just above them.

Thanks... I'll have a look in there next time I go in
