EXPIRED - Small Weight Set York Spinlock Cast Iron Dumbbell Set Reduced from 24.99 to 16.66

£16.66

216°

FOUND BY: davidfrank1986 2 months, 2 weeks ago

Ok this is not really a deal as such
but for ages i been searching on the net for some half kilo weights and and kilo weights and the cheapest i was going to pay was like 13 quid including postage
then i found these at argos the bars are not really that good but the actual weights themselves are top class and have added themselves nicely to the rest of my weights
the half kilos also came with

4 x 0.5kg, 4 x 1.25kg, 4 x 2.5kg discs.

2 x 35.5cm spinlock bars.

4 spinlock collars.

Total weight combination, cast iron discs 15.2kg.

Training wall chart included.

i just thought id put this up so everyone knows argos have cheap weights and there good quality

Don't act like rambo . . Sure 15KG is nothing but you could do intense workouts with just a few KG's. I'd love to see you try some of the workouts we've done in our boxing circuits. 10 mins with just a few kg's would see your widgy fall off

Hmmm. Might have to get myself a set of these after this evening. Spent over an hour trying to fit a water boiler 2m up a wall. Bloomin thing weighs 42kg and when full holds 120 litres. Decided on a short surfing break and found this. Dont suppose i could borrow your widgy for an hour or two p2pwar???

Nice deal.

I've had this set for the last 5 or 6 years ("York", pretty sure bought from Argos at the time too!) and they've never failed me.

What could possibly be "not very good" about the bars though? I can't fault them.. they do their job fine and are sturdy as, and havent rusted in all the years I've had em!

I am a BAWLA qualified fitness instructor, and these bells are (along with Body Sculpture) are probably the best for someone taking more of an interest in weight training.

The same weights and collars (the spinning bit to secure the weights) also fit the larger bars from the same brands which have disks that go up to ten kilos, and the bells can hold multiple disks comfortably exceeding what 99.99% of people would ever use.

There is no difference in weights from older pre spinlock sets - so disks from older sets can still be added (or new ones disks added to your older sets).

The only downsides with these weights is being round they can roll, and are cast iron - so entirely unforgiving if dropped, so if you are completely new to training with weights - this might be a better option...

Lastly, cast iron weights are near on indestructible, and far more people buy them than every actually use them - I have well over 200kg of free weights all bought second hand for under sixty quid in total.

Try here after submitting your postcode and search for weights being sold locally.
