POSTED BY: mstiny 9 months, 3 weeks ago

yesterdays budget attacked the plastic carrier !!!! I shop for 6 people every week and use many of these plastic bags to my shame .Think i will start buying one of these eco friendly bags each week so i have enough to do my shopping when they start to charge you for the free ones !I remember my mum used to have 2 proper shopping bags but she shopped every day as she didnt drive !

I always use mine for bagging wet foot waste in my bin.
The rest, I recycle at the supermarket.
This is an example of Labour taxing their own.
You are paying for £billions going on Northern Rock, in fact the entire budget of one department.
Wonder how many doctors and nurses they could have bought or the £3bn the MOD asked for to fight wars has gone to prop up a Geordie bank.

Stand at the till and remove all the unnecessary packaging from the goods that the Supermarkets sell.

It will then all fit into one or two bags and they would soon get the message.

Main shop I get online and I do send most of the carrier bags back for recycling plus Tesco give green clubcard pts this depends on how pushy the delivery driver is.Tesco pack stupid,1 roll of tin foil in 1 carrier bag.
However I've been taking bags for life ( they don't last a lifetime! ) out and about when shopping for yrs now anyway and used to going to Aldi etc and taking my own bag.

Bag for life doesn't mean the bag will last for life, it means the store will replace it when ever it wears out for LIFE! You can take them to court if they don't

1 roll of tin foil is because you get different people shopping for different parts of your order and you probably only ordered foil round that section.

by the way all those rambling on about shops charging...it was in the new budget if you hadn't bothered reading it. It has been proposed that there should "not a tax on plastic bags but the threat of a new law which could force supermarkets to charge for them if they don't do enough to cut their use"

My shop is done online with Asda, all the bags they use to bring it in the cartons are given back to them the following week as they take them back and put them in recycle for you.

Big blue Ikea bags cost 50p. Been using these for large shops at Lidl for a year or so now - everything on the coveyor and open bag in trolley ready to receive post scanning.

Works a treat and will probably now do the same at Tesco and the new Asda in Andover.
