This kit is being sold by Saverstore for £58.69 with free collection from Luton or delivery costs £5.99. The same kit from BT's website costs £179.99!

Description
TheBT Home Wireless Monitoring System Alarm is a complete protection system for your home that alerts you to potential emergencies wherever you are.

What is BT Home Monitoring?

BT Home Monitoring offers round the clock protection for your home and family, with wireless sensors linked to an Internet monitoring service.

The monitoring service sends alerts via text message, email and fixed line phone within the UK when triggered by a security incident.

What does BT Home Monitoring offer?

* Home protection - sensors are placed around your home to detect intruders or the threat of fire (fire detection requires smoke detectors - sold separately)
* Personal protection - the panic alarm function allows people inside your home to summon help in an emergency
* Intruder deterrence - the loud internal warning siren will deter potential intruders
* Easy installation - all components are pre-programmed for immediate use, without complex wiring
* Real time response - sends alerts via text message, email and fixed line phone within the UK if your home is under threat (call charges apply).
* Control and assurance - build an 'electronic neighbourhood watch' of trusted friends and neighbours.
* Remote monitoring - see the status of your home online any time, from anywhere.
* For use in any home - the starter kit suits a small to medium sized home.

Includes 3 months of free monitoring then £5 per month. Must have a BT phone line.

Extra PIR sensors are available for £23.49 or keyfobs for £18.79 so you could extend this to protect a larger home quite cheaply.

got this for about £50 2 years ago. You don't have to set up the £5 direct debit, only if you want it to call your mobile phone when alarm is activated

Well I searched for all Saverstore deals, BT Alarm, VP1000 and nothing came up. Can you link to a previous post so I can work out why the search wouldnt bring anything up please?

Comparing prices to eBay and similar isnt really fair, almost EVERYTHING can be had cheaper off eBay!

Don't like to disillusion you but there's almost nothing on Ebay that can't be had cheaper elsewhere. Hotukdeals is followed by a fair number of Ebay "traders" who buy bargain offers to resell at a profit on Ebay. Hence, if you post something here that isn't cheaper than Ebay, the response is rarely more than lukewarm.

Saverstore are, I believe the reincarnation of the famous Watfraud Electronics. Just do a Google search under Saverstore, Savastore or Watford (or even, Watfraud) Electronics to find the high regard in which they were held!

Correct, they are also registered at the same address as Redten Internet who may or may not be in financial trouble but they have left all their customers with no internet access since Monday(myself included -ve haff vays ov getting ze net still tho!) with no communications and numbers that 95% of the time you cannot get thru to and when you do you get told what sounds like its being red from a script . For more information see: here , here or even here

I am voting this cold due to the fact that their is doubt (in my mind at least) over the companys current viability!

Thanks. Those deals were all posted over 10 months ago! Hardly a duplicate post. I only searched for deals in the last 3 months and nothing came up.

I was simply pointing out that it would be quite easy for people to go straight to eBay to find a cheaper price on many items and make that comment against many HUKD posts but it is hardly a fair comparison. eBay is a market all to itself and if competition is high then prices are lower as Den169 seemed to find when they bought their Alarm system.

Agreed, 90% of things can be had for cheaper on ebay, but obviously there's more risk. Things may come up cheaper from a retailer every so often but prices remain pretty consistent on ebay.

Totally wrong I buy a fair bit of specialised items on Ebay and have bought items upto 90% cheaper than I could have bought from elsewhere

On topic, good lil system that offers piece of mind. Dont bother paying £5 per month subscription, I just entered my moby number in system and it rings me direct if alarm goes off.

Voted warm, as my thread last year was cheaper :P

Great system really easy to install and i bought a friend one as a house warming present a few weeks back from savastore and had no problems with them.
