Banning Policy

When you were banned first time it will only have been for a day - this would have given you plenty of opportunity to read the FS rules and T&C and should also have made you realise that breaches of the rules are taken seriously...

I have noticed that some people can be banned for the smallest mistake that has been worked up by jobsworths on here but I have seen blatant scammers and rule brakers get away with murder.

I think it all depends how many reports they get from the mod wannabes / jobworths that live on here.

In fact i will probably get banned for giving my opinion on this subject because of these people

Did you report them? If you want the FS forum to be a safer, more useful forum and less like a post-ebay wasteground you would be better off helping out others by reporting rule-breakers and potential scammers rather than whinging about those who do so on here...

I agree its good to keep the FS Forum safer and I support that all the way but dont appriciate some members who go out of thier way to report other members who may of made a mistake with thier FS thread.

I suppose it just adds to those members who get a kick out of biting peoples heads off for forgetting to price or put pics up

People don't get banned for that though - they would only get a ban if they persistently refused to put a price up after being asked by a mod. The FS has recently got much stricter (hence the 24 hour bans) but this was at the request from a lot of members to take a tougher approach - and there isn't really any justification from people who get banned more than once for repeatedly breaking the rules.

Also, asking someone politely to post a price or picture or if the have ebay feedback isn't "Biting their heads off", its something that will genuinely be in the interest of both potential parties...

Asking politely is fine but I have seen people get jumped on which is not nice and probably puts new members off.

It seems some members on here go through each thread looking for mistakes so that they can get noticed where as other members will give help if they spot a mistake.

Not sure if that is strictly true, I'm sure the members have good intentions. The FS forum is approaching 100 new threads per day now, its a lot more than one person can moderate so Col and the other mods are reliant on other members reporting threads and helping out in others.

The board has been and will continue to be a target for scammers and traders and they are often very crafty in their approach - the self-moderating approach (relying on ordinary members reporting suspicious threads) does help catch them out, a whilst I agree it might appear a bit strict and possibly in that way unfriendly to a newcomer this is necessary to keep the fraudsters to a minimum.

You were banned for 1 day when you first breached the rules. As jah128 said, this should have given you the hint to actually read the rules and ensure future posts were in line with them. However, you got back from your ban - and did the exact same thing again, leading to a futher ban of 1 week - which is perfectly laid out and explained in the rules.

No-one is banned from HUKD for offering their opinion, I have no idea what you base this on. What people do get banned for - is breaching the forum code of conduct.

It just seems that if certain people complain then something is done, even though its not always justified, where as others just seem to get away with things

If you have a problem with anything on the site, please use the report button and the mods will look into it. If you have a mjaor complaint regarding the way the site is run, please use the "contact us" button to email admin.

I do use the report buttons where needed (even though some sort of acknowledgment that something is or is not being done about it would be nice)

I dont really have a problem with the way the site is run, I just felt the need to vent something that bugs me seeing as somebody had started a thread about the issue.

To be honest if people (including myself) dont like what goes on here all they have to do is go somewhere else.

Ok, can i ask why a member was not banned from here today, for (and it did make me lol mind), telling me to go and take my face for a sh**.
The member used carefully placed asterisk for the i in the above word.

So, seems if you're rude to a mod, ie Abacus, you get banned, rude to a member, whilst circumventing the rude word policy, you don't get banned. Is that how it is?

boydent999 - the member has received a warning - that's what we usually do for first offences.

Oh right, so for circumventing AND being offensive, that's only worth a warning? Thanks
