Fuji Velvia 35mm dated 11/2007 from £1.10 a roll, probably last ever batch (plus £3.95 postage)

£1.10

32°

FOUND BY: bainzy 1 year, 8 months ago

7dayshop were recently selling Velvia that expired from Summer last year, but have now updated the stock with probably the last batch made of the original Velvia (50 asa), dated 11/2007. This stock should all come out perfect, I've bought 15 rolls myself to freeze, since neither the new 100 asa or 50 asa Velvia films Fuji have released aren't exactly the same in look as the original Velvia (the latter is very close but not quite the same). It works out £1.10 a roll if you buy the 5 pack or £1.39 for a single roll, those of you who buy slide film will know how absurdly cheap this is.

Although the postage is almost 4 pounds, most people will be stocking up at this price.

Can I ask, out of interest, why?

Because it'll make it last up to around 25 years before the film deteriorates - and Velvia won't stay at this price forever.

Velvia is usually good for about 3 years after expiry when left at room temp before it starts to colour shift or lose contrast, so 3 months makes no difference - I've used loads of these at 8 months out of date and they all turned out perfect. Be sure to keep them in the fridge at least when you get them though.

I used to work for the Klick birmingham lab, before it shutdown along with leeds lab a couple of years ago, I'm pretty sure out of date film was the least of the processing problems, lab reports were always fun

I've never heard about putting the film in the freezer, I figured that would make the film tighten too much and crack? When I used to use film it was in the fridge at about 4degrees, and never had any problems.

Velvia is awesome aswell...

'tis a very niche product, so don't expect too much heat.
