Hahaha, how untrue is that!

There is no alterantive for the DVD yet. Its not dying. It has another 10 years yet if not more. Peoples resistance to changing will ensure that. Its not like CD's where its easy to download and store.

hahahaha thats the funniest comment I've heard in a while - are the blu-ray fanboys going on the offensive against DVD now?? It will be a long time before anything takes over dvd. I'd bet that dvd outlasts blu-ray or anything else in the near future. There just isn't the leap between the next gen formats and dvd that there was between dvd and vhs.

I expect all future Blu-Ray players will continue to support DVDs for pretty much the rest of the life-span of Blu-Ray, also, ensuring DVD won't just "die". I bet most people with Blu-Ray/HD DVD players still mostly watch DVDs.

truth is blu-ray is too pricey at the moment - if the prices do ever come down for players and bluray dvds then i think the dvd market will die
