This is a good price.

People may vote it cold because they remember the MyBook deals on here.

They need to remember that this is a more compact drive, and as such comes with a price premium.

MyBook - £70 for 500GB
This one - £100 for 320GB

Voted hot, as it is the cheapest you'll probably find.

Can get it from dixons with quidco (3%) and free delivery...
http://www.dixons.co.uk/martprd/product/seo/533727

Could get it from currys collect at store for £99.99 but with 3% quidco for collections. (making it 50p cheaper)

Or could get it from pcwold using a 5% discount voucher delivered.

EDIT: If you are gonna get 2 then you could buy them from currys with free delivery, £7.50 off and 3.5% quidco!

Great unit. But compared to the 80gb portable maxtor usb powered on here for £29 all-in this is expensive.

Very nice price. I have the 160gb version.

I advise not using the Western Digital Synch software included on the drive, it takes forever to check what files have changed before backing up what is actually required.

Much better to just plug it in and copy across changed data like you were using a USB flash drive.

Some reviews say you need a split USB cable to to correctly power the drive (which uses 2 USB ports on your laptop/PC). If you do, I think they can be ordered free from WD UK on 01372 360055.

80gb for £29
320gb for £99 = £24.75 per 80gb

How do you work that out?

You'd have to buy 4 to have the same amount of storage.

Which would cost you £116.

This is only £99.

And then you would have to have 4 drives instead of 1.

Very hot indeed, it's the first time I see a 2.5" drive as big as that for under £100! Same here, been waiting for that for a little while now, thanks for the pointer!

Hot deal no matter what people say. This is a 2.5" hard drive NOT the big 3.5 hard drives.

We;re going to see these drives get cheaper over the coming days/weeks. WD have recently released their 'Elite' version - 320GB with extra bells and whistles, for a couple of pound more.

Hence why the Passport are now dropping in price. Luke Warm for me.
