Free £25 bet

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Whats the deal?

If youre planning to place a bet on the Grand National this weekend (or just having a bet at all!), theres a way to get a totally free £25 bet.

How the deal works

If you sign up to Betfair as a new customer and bet £25 on the Grand National, it will refund the £25 straight back into your account after the race - whether you win or lose.

Betfair's senior press officer has confirmed to us that, "As soon as £25 worth of bets are bet on a new account on Betfair, we will credit that account with £25" and that the money can then be withdrawn. Read the full T&Cs for this offer.

Step by step guide to get a free £25 free bet
Step 1. Sign up for an account. Go to the sign-up page, and enter the code BFB425 in the promotional code box.
Step 2. Place your bets. Then bet at least £25 on the Grand National in one bet or in a series of bets.
Step 3. Withdraw your £25. You'll receive your free £25 within 24 hours of the race finishing and can withdraw this to your bank account.

Don't forget to go through Quidco - £30 for new members of Betfair!

Doesn't this mean that they will refund you your £25 stake regardless of what you bet on? So it is not just for the National?

** EDIT **

BetFair T&C:
Specific Terms: Matched sports bet promotion for new Betfair customers only.

Enter the promotion code detailed when joining Betfair and we’ll credit the free bet amount to your account after you’ve had at least the value of the free sports bet amount matched. “Matched” means a bet you have placed on the sports betting exchange and has been fully accepted by Betfair and has been matched with an opposing bet.

If you are eligible, in order to obtain the free bet incentive you must have matched bets with a total value of equal to or more than the free bet offer. Voided bets will not be counted towards your total value.

Betfair will use reasonable endeavours to credit your account with the free bet within 24 hours of settling the full free bet amount on the market where you have placed enough matched bets to meet the qualifying requirement.
Looking at the T&C confirms to me that its not just for the national. Anyone agree?

Yep, I think you're right. Just that the site I noticed the deal on (MSE) only mentioned the National. TBH, the GN is the only time me and OH actually bet, so ideal timing for us!

I didn't try it last year but the MSE website (where I originally noticed the code) is usually pretty reliable.

Think it's worth a go. Does anyone know if you have to put the 25.00 on a single bet or whether it can be used for multiples?

I've had a punt. Signed up through quidco £30 tracked straight away. Put £25 on Baggies to beat Pompy If it comes off a nice profit of £100 + £25 Stake + £30 Quidco. Not bad.

Thanks for posting. May be worth editing so the post is not National specific as the promotion isn't. Might get more people interested.

In the T&C is states that you need to reach the £25 limit through "matched bets" - plural. I'd take this as meaning you could have 5 beats worth £5 each or whatever you like.

i've a feeling that if you use a promo code as well as quidco then you won't get the quidco bishbosh....somebody who knows a wee bit more about the ins and outs of quidco might confirm or deny

Taken from the Quidco Betfair page:

Betfair is a new and exciting place to bet, where you'll find the odds are on average 20% better than of a traditional bookmaker. Its a market place where you can bet against other punters, not against a bookie, so the odds are almost always better as there is no bookmaker adding in their profit margin. Sign up before the Grand National and receive a £25 free bet!

I signed up through quidco this afternoon, but cashback hasn't tracked yet. Is the £25 free bet credited after the race do you think?

Just registered too and put multiple bets on the national for £25 total. The 'free' £25 is credited to your acount by Monday apparently and then you can transfer it back to your bank.
Seems too good to be true I must admit but if Martin "Slash" Lewis is recommending it then it must be kosher.
Voted hot

Good luck everyone!!

Thought it was a free £25 bet, how are you going to tranfer this back into your account ?

You have to place £25 of your own money into your new account initially via debit/credit card/paypal to qualify. You then use this credit to place bets to the value of £25 (minimum) and then after the race, regardless whether you win or not, they will credit your account with another £25. You can then transfer this back out of the Betfair account if you so wish. At the very worst you'll be all square at the end.
