well imo this seems a great price, heres a rough estimate for building yourself:
Case: £20
PSU: £30(generic)
CPU: £140
Ram: £30
Hard drive: £30
Motherboard: £40
+ Vista home premium- £55
= £345 and then i believe you need too add a generic keyboard+mouse, £5.

This is a good price especially for a pre-built. Only concern is the intergrated graphics or if it is the cheapy 8400, +£115 and get a bfg 9600GT, great card and a good price.

edit: @ Bargain hunter, vista is OK, not ****. Macs=fail, pay £2k for a good system(ish) and yet a £500 pc could beat it by miles(mine does xD). Mac has expansions too its OS every year i believe and are around £100 each.... 10 new packs so far? yet xp---> vista, one change.
And also this isnt for saying whats **** and isnt, its for price.

May need changing the PSU as well. The similar £359 Dell Inspiron 530 can take a 8800GT without upgrading the PSU.

If you are replacing an existing computer Dylan is, then it would be worth spending a little more and get a Mac Mini and use your existing screen, mouse and keyboard (and ask for the proper Apple ones for next Xmas)

Mac is hardware and vista is software.

Its your chosing what you put on your mac hardware, it comes preinstalled with tiger or leopard or what have you but its your choice what os you put on. you can put linux, windows or mac os on it.

Mac is hardware + software from the same people = better operation

Mac's are better, fact. Fair enough the hardware is a little more expensive but so much more worth it

Mac OS X is far better the Vista, and why should you go back to XP. Just full of virus 'n junk
