Free Bus Pass for the over sixties

FOUND BY: criky18 6 months, 1 day ago

Whilst there has been much press a search here suggests this has not yet reached the pages of Hotdeals. "Anyone" over sixty can apply to their Local Authority for a free bus pass which gives not only local free travel but national ( within England ) free bus travel. Mine arrived the other day and I took it with me on holiday in Dorset. It gave me entirely free travel within Dorset on any of the council supported bus services. Used it for free travel to Poole, Bournemouth, Christchurch, Salisbury, Lymington etc - as well as just jumping on and off for short journeys. Brilliant scheme - everbody should get one and use it. Park your car at some local free retail site and just hop on a bus, show your card to the driver and go anywhere within the county subject only to the bus operator being council supported. On one popular bus route the vehicle had only one fare paying youngster - the rest being older fuddies like myself. Some restrictions about pre 9.30 a.m. ( peak ) use but just stay in bed a bit longer. A Great scheme. Look at website for more info.
