Norwich Union Car Insurance - Up to £75 off plus £45 quidco

28°

FOUND BY: lesley74 2 months, 3 weeks ago

I just got my car insurance from Norwich Union yesterday - went through quidco for an additional £45 and it has tracked already!

They're giving up to £75 cashback on their website for new policies too! I got £15 as mine was under £220 - it is tiered.

Cheapest quote I could find was £150
Norwich Union price £163, less £15 cashback due, less £45 Quidco due = £103.

Bargain!

Prudential was £95 quidco a few months ago with 1 year free breakdown cover.

Looks like they have reduced it by £20 and removed the breakdown cover but they are still one of the cheapest.

Excellent quote much to my surprise, £316 fully comp on a Mazda RX8. Not quite as cheap as my current insurer (Esure £270) but when you factor in the cash back and Quidco element on top its very tempting.

Norwich Union.

A great company to use if you speak Indian, and want all your future communications with them done via a call centre representative 8000 miles away.

I'll stick to UK based call centres thanks

I would never use Norwich Union again. They couldn't understand me on the phone and it turned into a nightmare. In the end Norwich Union didn't help one bit and I was trying to claim because someone drove INTO my car. Be very wary. Worth using a comparison site to find your cheapest insurance.

NU are **** - more than double what I currently pay and renewal quotes - £75 cashback and quidco don't even come close to compensating. Plus their call centres were (not sure if this is still the case) in low cost locations so the service is **** if you need to claim - or even talk to them.

Gotta agree with the general sentiment above, NU are terrible to deal with when you need to contact them with reference to accidents/claims etc - the call centre is based in Bangalore, India - no problem with some of their English, but they don't appear able to comprehend and action what you've asked them to do over the phone.

Next time I will ensure I go elsewhere for my policy based on the grief I've had with this company.

So looks like a good deal as long as you don't need to make a claim!
