There appears to be some question over the "free" software that goes with it. But regardless of the software, this is a good price for a sirf-star III bluetooth receiver.

The only cheaper one I saw was the Orange Accessory store one for £20, but they're long gone now.

So voted hot!

I understand the software will also work on phones with gps (n95 etc) without using the receiver

To avoid the potential GPRS / Text Costs from a mobile to download the Wayfinder Navigation software, looks like you can download it from http://getwf.com/ on your computer, then transfer it over to your mobile via bluetooth / usb etc

I bought one of these last time round but found(after lots of emails to their rubbish tech support) that the serial key for the Wayfinder software only activates the trial version to the 12 month subscription for Sony P1i phones. Play.com offered a refund as they cannot get other serial numbers from their supplier but I kept it anyway because the receiver is very good for that price alone.

I brought one of these from a different place last year. Never used the software as already had tomtom but the GPS receiver died after a couple of week and wouldn't power up. Might of been a one of, but the quality was VERY low on the receiver.

dont know how it compares but the Holux is very very good.

I had it for a year or so and reception was always very very good. You can keep the receiver in the car glove compartment and you stillget connection to your phone and also v good reception.

BTW anyone know if you can use the Holux with a Blackberry and Tom Tom?

That might save you the initial cost of downloading the software but you will still get charged each and every time you use the software because it doesn’t come with any pre-installed maps. It downloads information every time you use it. So depending on how much you use it, you’re looking at about 5Mb / month.

The deal is still good if you already have SatNav software on your phone (like TomTom Navigator – which I highly recommend btw) and are just after a Bluetooth GPS device. The next cheapest that I know of is mobilefun.co.uk @ £29.95.

I use this receiver on a SE P1i running Tomtom and I can't fault it. My phone came bundled with this and Wayfinder, but when I realised it charged me for the useage I deleted it and went to Tomtom.
