Urgh. Worst, most unauthentic japanese food imaginable.

It's the den of hipsters and folk who think they're right up to the moment. EVERY restaurant is always filled to the gunnel, because people are too dumb to work out where other, better Japanese restaurants are *cough* Ichiban *cough*.

That, and their udon are way too dry.

Wagamamas is perfect for a quick lunch bite. I wouldn't say it was the place to take your wife for a romantic meal! Yes it's almost like a pub chain, but the food is fine and the service is good and you can take your kids there too.

I disagree that people go there because it's cool to be seen there (living in London my opinion may be somewhat biased though, given we have Nobu for example) - that may have been the case 7 years ago, but I think most people know that Wagamamas is basically fast food.

I've just been there for lunch with some workmates, we waited 5 minutes to be seated and had finished eating and drinking within just over an hour. None of us complained, and the food was great - excellent value with the 2 for 1 offer.
