i bought my console around when halo 3 was being release and got it for £250 with halo 3 so basically if i trade it in i'll be losing the money i spent on the 4 games which is probably expected.

XBOX live is far bigger than the PS3 counterpart and undeniably the 360 has the best selection of games

In a year or two PS3 will annihilate the 360 so wait at least 6 months before doing anything, thats what I'm going to do..

I have a fair few mates who have both PS3 and 360 and even they admit that there is currently nothing tht surpasses its 360 counterpart on PS3. From what I have seen some of the PS3 versions of games aren't anywhere near as good as they are on 360. The Orange Box being a perfect example of this, the graphics aren't actually as good and is plagued by loads of problems, despite the PS3 having far superior technology. From what I hear Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 has the same problems...

And before all the PS3 owners start having a go, your machine is technology wise far superior, but you just don't have the games catalogue yet...No Gears, Halo, Ace Combat, Bioshock etc.....

Although it is true that the the X360 has a larger selection of games and better developed graphics (on some games) at the moment, the PS3 is destroying it in Sales figures as we speak.

The developers have admitted that once they can understand the architecture behind the PS3, it will produce phenomenal results.

2008 is the year of the PS3 with some massive exclusives like Metal Gear Solid 4 and Little Big Planet etc.

Now all the fans who talk about graphics, go search out the review for the special Metal Gear Solid 4 testing - this is the first game that will take advantage of all 50gigs on Blu-Ray. The reviewer for a reputable non-bias site mentions that halfway through playing the game, it felt like he was playing in a movie!

There are 100's of reasons of why the PS3 is better than the X360. Some are:

Blu-Ray has won the format war
Updates are regular and Sony plan to introduce Home - new network model
Network Play is Free
Exclusives are coming out
DivX officially supports Sony's console
Freeview will be coming plus the ability to record TV onto the HDD
Hard Drives are easy to upgrade
1080P and DTS supported
Looks miles better
Doesnt need additional parts
None of this Red Ring Rubbish

I can go on and on and on and on and on.

I think most 360 fans can now see that the potential of the PS3 will kill and stamp out the X360 in the forseeable future. Its only a matter of time before Microsoft realises this and will lower the price of their packages (all 50 of them or however many revisions there are).

Waiting - you run the risk of selling for a lot less due to the fact PS3 will become the dominant console. Personally i would sell now and get the 60 gig console whilst you can get a decent price for it.

So bascially you've described why I should I buy a PS3 for entertainment but for it's primary purpose games, it fails.

Well thats the beauty of the PS3 its not just a nex-gen gaming console but its an all-in-one powerful future entertainment unit.

And what do you mean it fails for games?

Dont forget the game graphics are just as good as the X360 (and bear in mind the full power of the PS3 is yet to be unleashed until programmers work it out) and the 360 has had a years advantage therefore more games are available for it.

There are more than enough games available to keep you occupied and when you look at some of the exclusives coming out this year, the 360 will get pwned.

No disrespect but the Xbox 360 just keeps bringing out more and more extras/addons/accessories to compete with the PS3 and in the end it looks like a big bulky mess that kinda reminds me of the A-Team series - the part where they are in a garage and make a cool machine compiled with whole bunch of cr.ap
