USA advice...

Hi guys,

This summer I will be taking part in camp america meaning I will be in the US for 3 months!

After camp has finished I can travel America for up to 1 month.

I am after any bits of advice you guys can give me. I will be in NY most of the time. This help can be related to anything! shopping, traveling, food, attractions etc....

Hi
Just a general bit of advice that I do before traveling. Scan your passport and your driving license and send it to your email address so that if you loose it you just need to access your email account and you can print out a copy to use at the embassy if needs be

would be cheaper in the states but depends how soon youd wanna use it / when youd have the chance to shop for and buy it, youd be kicking yourself if u missed out on some good photos cause you didnt have one yet

If you are buying a camera, personally, Id buy it here for 2 reasons....

1) warrenty and possible customs payments entering the UK
2) Whilst you might be able to pick up a bargain, its likely to be via a cashback and a US address needed. I was in Orlando in March last year - and looking for a cheap camera for the littlun. The one I ended up buying was no cheaper than here - and I searched all over for a good deal. Have a look online in US shops.... but remember you are likely to be buying from a shop.

Guv - I think you are right, I will check the prices on walmart website, but digital cameras dont seem so expensive nowadays!

yeah sounds like a good idea, its just I dont want to hold loads of cash. You reakon the rate might change in the next couple of months?


also anyone know of any cheap internal flight companies? Might want to go from NY to Florida#

You can always get travelers cheques, that way you're covered if they're lost/stolen and only YOU (or the person who fetches them) can use/sign for them.

hey i am also doing camp america

going to a camp in pennsylvania - really excited

then travelling for a month like yourself. i have lots of travellers cheques sorted for safety. Another tip is to buy a special american lock for your luggage (millets etc) so if the customs police have to open your bag they can do it without breaking the bag/normal locks etc
