Drive 12000 miles a year , fill up with Shell and save £55

Not the best saving in the world

Sign up to Shell's drivers club card - pick up a card in the petrol station + their citibank credit card to get the savings

Easy way to break it down , buy 500 litres of fuel (about 3900 miles at 35mpg) , get £2.50 back with the drivers club card and 3% cashback for fuel purchases

500 litres at £1.06 = £530
use the above = £512

so save £18 per 500 litres, In my area shell is the cheapest

but there is the hassle of paying another credit card off a month.

http://www.tescofinance.com/personal/finance/finance/creditcards/businesscc/index.jsp

businesses get 2p off a litre + collect clubcard points

so 500 litres at £1.06 = £530
using business card = £520 + 500 clubcard points

12000 miles would save £30 + 1500 clubcard points worth £60 in deals

Drive over 40,000 mils per annum and put all my fuel on Tesco credit card. Mrs M is more than happy with this what with 4 x points value on deals etc.

Good spot though if of use to anyone else.

SHELL ? = really - CITIBANK credit card ...

..an EXTREMELY unhelpful lot

..And don't forget .. IT mike take you 500 miles (anno) .. to cruise and find the nearest SHELL station on your travels ...

A 'win win' for SHELL .. (and their past and future - PRICING!)

???but the customer ???

The downside to this is that neither Shell or Tesco operate a national price structure :(

Cheapest near me is Asda. With an Asda c/card you get 2p off every litre. My car is diesel, 114.9-2p=112.9. Shell's best near me is 115.9. Might not sound much difference but I go through 100+ litres a week!
