Asda - save 2p per litre of petrol with their credit card

-23°

FOUND BY: humblegenius 4 months, 4 days ago

STARTS: 25/04/2008   EXPIRES: 25/04/2009

Just seen that you can save 2p on every litre of petrol just by taking out Asda's credit card.

As far as I can see this deal doesn't expire which means ongoing savings!

Obviously not huge savings but seems like a great money-saving tip if you live near near and Asda or regularly fill up there. You can also earn points in-store which are converted in to vouchers.

I've come across this before as I have recently changed to this card. Petrols not getting cheaper but this sure helps soften the bill!

"Petrols not getting cheaper"

You can say that again! This sounds like a good deal provided you pay off the card in full each month - heat added.

Might be better with an Amex card as they give up to 2% off all shopping and ALL supermarkets I use and lots of petrol stations take Amex (Including ASDA and Tescos). That way you don't just get the 2% off fuel.

Also ASDA only give 2p per litre off whatever the price per litre rises to, AMEX give a 2% discount off the whole bill and as petrol (and Diesel) is now over £1 a litre this is a greater saving IMHO.

Better off with tesco. Use barcalys fuel cash back card 1.5% does not go down like others which offer larger cash back for a couple of months, or ame 2% , ( but not sure if that is long term).

Plus get one club card point for every £1 . Multiply this by 4 for deals tokens.

well i use the Asda card and I think it's a good deal.
Better off with Tesco? My Tesco is 116.9, Asda after discount is 112.9.

I use about 110/120 litres of diesel a week

ASDA not always cheapest. I signed up to this address
www.petrolprices.com
and I get regular updates of the cheapest petrol near home and near work.
Worth a look - especially if you are in Scotland with the Grangemouth strike about to hit.

Welcome to the site and your first post.

As you can see, lots of different opinions on how to get some extra pennies off. I think it's a good deal for the "easy" option, and have therefore voted Hot.

I used to use this too but it was consistantly WRONG - gave it up in disgust as a waste of time!

I've had an Asda card for about a year now, always shop there anyway, and we won't fill up our cars anywhere else if we can help it. Bearing in mind hubby does a lot of business miles, and I do all the leisure miles, it's a great deal for us.

Yep do the same. Works out at about 104-5p (depending which 1 I go to) a litre plus clubcard points.

ASDA petrol is normally 4-5p cheaper and with the card it brings down the cost of fuel

TIP - Always fill by LITRE not price

How exactly does the 2p com off - ie straight away, off your monthly bill, via some pouints system?
