after lenghty discussions with the cpwh about being misadvised a contract on the phone it turns out that they record all the phone calls in order that they can relisten to them in this situation. so im guessing that you could ask them to listen to the calls again to hear what was said. after relistening to mine (or not as i was on the phone hours) they accepted my version of what i was sold and then credited my account with £25 when i said it just wasnt good enough. i dare say i could have gotten more if i had pushed to cancel the contract as they would probably lost my upgrade. its worth phoning them up and making a fuss,.... you never know what you might get! Have phoned and complained, was told I had to write in in order to get a response. No reason why they can't respond if I phone or e-mail. That's just the way it is apparently! In fact they won't even take an e-mail and debated sending me a cheque for 50p to cover my stamp/envelope etc! What a total waste of time.

After much arguing they are actually going to look into it and listen to the call and get back to me (even without writing in, something that was impossible 10 minutes ago apparently!)

Don't want anything in return, just an apology and a promise that they won't do it again.

I normally hang up on them but my wife said they keep on phoning so I thought I'd see what was so great that he had to offer that he had to keep phoning. Turns out he wanted to just lie to me even when I'd proved to him that I wasn't lying.

I had a call from "3" today - though hadnt realised when the call started. I'm actually with T-Mobile and near the end of my contract. Quick version was that I mentioned I was looking to PAC to 3 and take up their offer that included a free USB dongle and 1/2 price subs at £7.50pm. I was told that offer had expired so couldnt get it now. Since I had looked at the page only an hour before, I asked why 3 still showed this offer on the website. He eventually said I could take up this offer - but only if I took out a new deal with him now.

Obviously this is untrue. I could walk into any store and take out this offer - or better still go via quidco and cut down the cost on a 6 month contract.

He gave up in the end. But similar story!

Sounds similar, can't believe they can get away with it!

Trying to cancel cpw contract at the moment too, they don't half make it difficult. Spoke to them for nearly an hour the other day, they hung up on me twice! You have to give 30 days notice in order not to pay extra for going over the 12 months contract, so I'm giving them nearly 2 months notice. Not allowed to according to them, you have to give at least 30 days notice but no more than 34 days! Oh, and you have to get a code from them to allow you to cancel which they'll give you at -34 days, so you've then got to get that to them in the post within the next couple of days in order to not be charged extra. I don't mind paying extra but when they effectively force you to I think it's a bit unfair, especially considering it'll be about £2 per day.

They also tried to tell me recorded mail was guarenteed next day, when I pointed out it wasn't as it went through the same system as first and second class they changed their minds to "Royal Mail don't do any guarenteed services", to which I pointed out that special delivery is next day guarenteed.

Then I asked why they needed it sent recorded delivery, they said so if it gets lost in the post then I would have proof of postage, I told them I would get proof of postage then as it's free. Not good enough according to them!

Well, Phones4u promised to get back to me by the end of Monday, suffice to say they didn't!

Phoned them today to see what's going on, they've lost my complaint!!! Had to go through it all again and got promised a call back by Thursday.

Refused to let me speak to the manager.

Phones4u suck, in fact anyone who makes a living from sales and commission and so pushing them to force themselves all over potential customers can gtfo

Didn't get my call on Thursday, suprised???

Phoned up today, they haven't dealt with the complaint, no one has even bothered to listen to the call yet even though they've promised that it would happen on monday and then promised again it would happen on Wednesday/Thursday.

They told me this time that they will investigate but they now won't get back to me. Told them it's not acceptable, asked to speak to the manager, not available, suprised???

Promised a call back today, will believe it when I hear it!

Well they phoned me back,

BUT, no explanation as to why they've broken loads of promises to phone me and look into my complaint.

And to top it all off tried to claim that it wasn't even phones4u who phoned me, suggested that it was someone else who knew details about my current contract. Tried to say it was vodafone but then surely they'd have said they were from vodafone rather than lie and say they're from phones4u.

Either way, they're going to do absolutely nothing!!

CPW phoned my GF whose contract (with CPW) is about to end - they told her of a new deal they could offer her - and she said she was intending to look around but had not started yet as there was over two weeks to go (ie - she never does it - I do it for her). So she asked them to send out the details to her.

CPW have her email address from ordering previously - and this arrived...
