EXPIRED - having baby? Sure start maternity Grant £500 per child remember to claim yours!

175°

FOUND BY: karen3boysxxx 2 weeks, 3 days ago

Hi, I am a mum of 3, i have now told 4 people about this grant that did not know about it, Health visitors & midwives dont usually let you know, however this grant ( as long as you qualify) is for every baby, to help buy those essentials and ensure baby's have a "sure start" Please dont vote cold just because it is not relevant to you or you already knew, have a thick about someone you know who is expecting that may not know! The grant is £500, and payable from 29 weeks pregnant, until baby is 3 months old. So even if you dont recieve the required benefit, you may when you are not working after baby comes along (like me the first time) Take a look at the website, money tax & benefits section

Waste of taxpayers money - throwing money at low income families does not improve the quality of children's lives.

I believe this works on a tax back from working yourself basis, which is why the inland revenue pay it out, and is from the social fund. i once read that every qualifying parent is entitled to this grant, but many dont know about it, so there is a lot of unclaimed money.

To qualify you or your partner must be receiving income based Jobseeker's Allowance, Income Support, Pension Credit, Child Tax Credit at a rate higher than the family element, or Working Tax Credit where a disabled worker is included in the assessment.
